What other meats are best left for wayward days gone by?
Roast beef/beef tenderloin!

Cold sandwiches with horseradish? The best.

This thread is making me even more excited about the holidays.

I think I am going to take up Mrs Dodint's method of using a muffin tin to make dressing. I'm thinking cornbread and chorizo (again).

i think of the sides like condiments. they make the turkey taste better (stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, crescent rolls specifically)

I'm curious to hear if you find any benefit to it other than aesthetics. I like to think that the sausage baking in the little cups makes everything properly saturated and moist but I could be completely full of ****.

You two are perfect for each other. My wife's latest thing is making cold oats recipes in mason jars, she went and got 18 jars from my MILs cannery.

When I saw 'baking', I of course meant to say sous vide.

I figured as much, I'm not sure how a mason jar would take to real cooking.

I made the chocolate pot de crème sous vide from the chefstep's app in mason jars. Amazeballs.

Am I wrong or did we make it 8 pages into a side dish thread with no one making a mikey pasta sides joke?

Any of yinz plain folk make baked corn supreme with this? It comes out sort of like a corn pudding.

Cope's dried corn has been a staple of my family's Thanksgivings for many years.

In regard to the long forgotten pole, I think it's worth mentioning that current bottom feeder peas/carrots is partially getting a raw deal. Glazed carrots are awesome. Sous vide cooked glazed carrots are even more awesome. Peas are dragging carrots' reputation through the mud right now.

I am not above this.

McDonald's is trolling me. McRib Locator shows the LA basin awash in reports of sightings - including locations closest to my last house and last job - while the nearest one to me now is in burned up Sonoma County.... which itself is the only sighting in CA north of about the middle of the state.
