I cannot wait for Thanksgiving leftovers for the next week. It's going to be glorious.

Maybe get a Butterball small turkey? That's what my wife and I used to do when we didn't come home for Thanksgiving and it was just the two of us.

Did you save any of that pumpkin ice cream for Thursday?
Yup... 2 quarts went to work, and a pint stayed home for Thursday evening when I'm stupidly full, but want more food.

Pumpkin pie is a middle-tier pie for me, personally. Chocolate pecan pie for Thanksgiving, though? All. Day. Long.

Yeah, when my team was chatting about this I said "Is there a bigger dish that lets down on its promise more than pumpkin pie?" But if I could get it as a homemade ice cream that would be much better.

Actually a great point. I love pumpkin pie flavored items. Pumpkin pie itself though? Not bad, but not top tier.

My mom makes a pumpkin pudding/whipped cream type pie, harder to explain but it's my favorite

We did switch it up a week ago and made a bourbon pumpkin pie, which I thought was a nice little take on it. Would probably do that again instead of a traditional pumpkin pie. The bourbon whipped cream, though... gonna use that for more than just pumpkin pie for sure. That **** was great.

My wife hates pumpkin pie, but loves the flavor. Probably a texture thing. She looooooved the ice cream. So yeah. Much better platform for the pumpkin spices than in pie form.

Mashed potatoes are the most overrated Thanksgiving side. Unless you want to ruin all the other good stuff you ate by filling in the remaining space in your stomach with cement.

Yessssss.... the potato is such a phenomenal culinary treat, and for some god forsaken reason people love to boil 'em and mush 'em and call that a dish. I hate them. But, my wife loves them, so I make them for her.

Pumpkin pie is S tier - if it has an appropriate amount of nutmeg.

I have mashed potatoes frequently through the year so stuffing/filling tops the list of Thanksgiving sides for me.

Potatoes were invented so poor people hundreds of years ago could feel full. Now they only exist because of the weird norm that there needs to be a side dish with meals.

I'm saving my carb allotment for stuffing and yams.

The turkey itself is the God damn gravy vehicle. As is stuffing

If you're stuffing is any good you won't want to drown it in gravy.

Mashed potatoes can be quite good, it's not this wallpaper paste that some of you are making it out to be...

I eat mashed potatoes fairly regularly because it's a great vehicle for less good vegetables like carrots.
