Yeah, ham is no good. I always stomach a sliver for the sake of my MIL but honestly unless it's puree'd into ham salad I don't want anything to do with it.

^^^ Still griping about not being invited...

Kielbasa, sauerkraut, mashed taters, etc at New Year's is one of my favorites. And none of that Hillshire Farm junk either.

The holiday dinner convo reminds me of one of my favorite comics from the last decade:

We took a version of this from our time in Pittsburgh and added a bunch of Southern New Year's dishes: Hoppin' John and collards. Good stuff... :fist:

Kielbasa on New Year's? For shame.

Pork roast, sauerkraut, potato dumplings, corn, and dinner rolls.

When it comes to holiday dinners, I put Easter and Christmas both at the bottom because of Ham. I hate it cold, and it happens to be the preferred choice of both sides of my family.
What kind of savages would make a ham and then eat it cold for dinner? My grandmother would make a ham to put out cold as an appetizer, along with some kielbasa, but as the meal? I feel empathy for you.

Everything in there is correct, except you're forgetting kielbasa

It's basically Ham, potatoes, beans, and all the usual. I get really passive aggressive and put the ham in the microwave - thus slowing the line down, but I can't/won't eat it cold. it's gross.

The best part of holiday ham is day-after-holiday ham sandwiches. Spicy mustard, some cheese, maybe lettuce for crunch.

That's even worse. left-over ham is really gross to me. I only really like thinly chipped ham.

I feel like ham has really lost its appeal as my life has gone on...I used to eat it quite regularly...both as a dinner and a lunch meat...can't say that I've had either in the last several years...

Not a fan of lunch meat style ham anymore, but leftover Christmas and Easter ham is the bomb for a sandwich.

Chipped ham is nothing but pink fat. Blech.

I have to say I haven't eaten ham of any kind in years. Never was a big fan of it, don't miss it.
