Like, the sides to the turkey in this thread are up for debate, as wrong as some of you might be (Nan). But the turkey itself come on
Are you trying to tell me you’d rather have some bland ass turkey over a 15 hour, slow smoked brisket?? ARE YOU HIGH?!

If you haven't had good turkey, you're cooking it wrong. I deep fry my turkey and it is delicious.

If you haven't seen the cooking thread, we went over this today. And by "we" I mean that I think turkey is pointless and the rest of 5af thinks because they were brainwashed at a young age into thinking it matters, that somehow makes it taste good.

I submit that the inherent bland nature of turkey brings out the deliciousness of the sides even more. Any work done to make the turkey more flavorful is just a bonus.

Also, shmenguin's next post is his 10,000th...perhaps he can make it a memorable one by making peace with Thanksgiving. If he is a strong voice, it will influence other extremists like meow to moderate as well.

Turkey is just a stupid bird that ain’t all that dude good. We’ll be hitting 10 consecutive years of prime rib for Thanksgiving. Just like how the pilgrims would have wanted it.

My family had prime rib for Christmas dinner. But always turkey for Thanksgiving.

The drop from 2-3 is pretty crazy. I thought cranberry sauce would do better.

Anyone do crescent rolls instead of biscuits? Completely forgettable part of the meal but they're always there.
we make our own rolls. it is a must

cant do 'dressing' inside deep fried turkey

people that don't eat canned cranberries are enemies of mine. getting the cranberries all touchy feely with the turkey and gravy and stuffing and such is whats up

Broccoli, cheese, and mashed up crackers all mixed together and baked. So good.

That does sound good. I think I'll use a better cheese than Velveeta, though.

Mashed cauliflower is also good. I noticed a bunch of mashed-cauliflower dishes showing up in the frozen-veggies section at the supermarket, so I decided to try making it myself. Very tasty. I like to roast it rather than boil it so you keep more vitamins. Roast the cauliflower until it's soft, and mash it just like potatoes. Or one can add some mashed cauliflower into the mashed potatoes.
gotta be velveeta
