Hopefully not much time. For the life of me I never understood that hiring. With a new AD, his days are numbered. Maybe Pitt's just waiting for Sean Miller to leave Arizona. Not sure if he'd want to make the step down, though.

what is really vexing is that duqesne somehow managed to hire a better, more successful coach than pitt

I don't particularly like Stallings or his brand of basketball, but I definitely think he gets next year. Last year was a disaster and while this year is likely to end with a worse record, but their best player is injured and the rest of the team is freshman who (other than the UPS game) go out and play their asses off every night. That wasn't the case last year. These kids were recruited by Stallings, came to play for Stallings, and really seem to like him. Sucking is bad, but the absolute last thing this program needs is another year of player attrition that forces a new coach to come in and recruit an entire roster in a single cycle again.

As it is there is talking of Luther being out the rest of the year, which would open the door for a medical redshirt. If you get him back next season, add Malik Ellison, add 4 star PF recruit Bryce Golden, and guys like JWF, Carr, Stewart, Stevenson, Brown, and the Scandinavian Colander are a year older with a year of experience... this program is probably back on the road to respectability.

I didnt like the Stallings hire, but firing him now would be a bad move. Unless they completely crater next year, I would probably give him year 4 as well.

Coach K, the ever so gracious winner, gave some of his trademark unsolicited advice for the loser and said Stallings is a great coach and they need to stick with him.

It was a questionable hire and he was pretty medicore at Vandy, which made it even more questionable, but minus a scandal or player revolt, you can't deep-six a coach after just 2 years. He has no chance to bring in his own players and the constant coach turnover either neutralizes your program or sends it backwards. Admin should wait until year 3 and then take a hard look at it to see if the momentum is trending upward. What happened last night was pretty expected (Duke was -20 in Vegas) and it's probably going to happen a few other times this season. But the kids can't just check out and they have to realize that they're building something. At least that's what I would tell them.

As for Chambers at PSU, he's just spinning his tires. His non-con scheduling was extremely poor and whatever they did learn from beating the Coppins and Masons of the world certainly hasn't carried over into Big Ten play. But then, it's pretty difficult to recruit for basketball at PSU (middle of nowhere, terrible arena, antiseptic atmosphere) and I can only imagine they would only be able to pull in a mid to low-major coach to replace Chambers if they went that route.

Ryan Luther officially out the rest of the year and will seek a medical redshirt.

Ran into a couple GT hoops guys in the elevator at the Marriott. The one guy actually had to hunch over slightly to be comfortably in there

Fox had Ed Cooley and Dave Leitao mic’d up last night at the PC/DePaul game and had their raw feeds on FS Go. Only got to hear the last 5 min but it was good insight into the sideline dynamic at the D1 level.

Also the censor was a tad late on the button so every f bomb came through but not whatever cane after.

Those are two good coaches to mic up since they actually coach their kids and don't get after the officials all that much. If they want an R-rated telecast, they should mic up Bobby Hurley and Larry Krystkowiak when ASU and Utah get together. They're two of the biggest coaching crybabies in the game.

You have to be a pretty good coach to take freaking Buffalo to the NCAA Tournament. And what he's done in a short time at ASU is pretty remarkable. But when I've watched Sun Devils games this year, I just can't get over the constant crying on the sidelines. I want to reach thru my TV and choke slam him.

Who is Trae Young and why did ESPN/Sportscenter Facebook post like 10 videos of random **** that he did last night.

Like "Look at Trae Young trip over himself and turn the ball over" level of inanity.

Nation’s leading scorer, had a triple-double in his last game that included 40+ points and 10+ assists, plays for the #4 team in country (though rankings mean nothing), and had a 30-point, 20-assist game last month. And he’s only a freshman...very electric player. But last nite, he played like a freshman and had 12 turnovers in their blowout loss to K State.

I don’t think he has gone all ‘God bless’ in an interview yet, so no. His game is very similar to Steph Curry’s. Had a bad nite last nite trying to do too much.

I didn't think he normally gets reported on a lot. It was a story because the #4 team got their doors blown off and he set a conference record for turnovers in a game, which is pretty remarkable (but also not surprising, because he is the keystone and then some of that offense).

I could see that if it were one or two things. It was literally 9 or 10 innocuous plays that somehow got attention because it was whoever this guy is.

Like I'm honestly surprised they didn't have one showing how well he picked the wedgie out of his ass.
