Penn State beat Pitt by 31? Good lord. I think PSU will actually be a pretty decent team this year, but the Lions even winning that matchup would have been unheard of three years ago. Stallings won't be around long, I can't imagine.

They play #16 A&M tonight...that'll be a decent gauge as to just how good this team is.

Pretty darn happy with the performance tonight. They went toe-to-toe with a Final Four contender for 35 minutes, were down by 2 at the half, and lost by 11. That is light years beyond where PSU was five years ago as a program...they would have been blown out by 40+ then.

I was expecting to see a celebration from the resident Providence fan on the board after their buzzer beater to win the Belmont game.

My Towson Tigers are 5-1 after winning the Gulf Coast Showcase in Ft. Myers. I even got to call one of the games on the radio.

My Thanksgiving will be spent gorging on college basketball at the PK80 in Portland. 12 games in 3 days with a football game tossed in for good measure.

Was out to dinner with Mrs. Franchise and Damn DVR only recorded the first 90 min. Stupid technology.

It’s a nice if not a big name win, Belmont has already picked Vandy off this year and will be around in March. Now beat BC.

How good are the Sun Devils and Tra Holder? Xavier was their first "real" matchup, and they looked explosive.

Best college hoops game I've attended. That one replaced Missouri-Kansas 2012 at the top of the list. Clutch shots from numerous players on both sides. Gonzaga had a golden opportunity at the end of the first overtime and clanked the free throw. The championship games on Sunday are gonna be like Elite Eight/Final Four games.

In other news, Alabama lost to Minnesota by 5. No big deal normally except Bama played the final 10 1/2 minutes 3 on 5. Yeah, that's right, the Gophers had a 2-man advantage for the final 10 1/2 minutes. There was a skirmish with 15 minutes left and everyone on the Tide bench came onto the floor, which merits automatic ejection. So that left them without any subs. Then a Bama player fouled out with 12 minutes left so now they're down to 4. 2 minutes later, a Bama guy rolls his ankle and he's done for the game. Freshman point guard Collin Sexton went for 40 and the Tide actually outscored Minnesota 30-22 over that time span. They had the ball down 3 with 1:15 left but Sexton couldn't find the basket and they didn't threaten again.

12 games over 3 days in one arena, three that went overtime, two others that came down to the last possession....whew, what a crazy hoops weekend in Portland.

My Tigers looked great against WVU, until they cranked up the press to 11 and then they folded like a cheap tent. Youngsters will be well served on that one come conference and (fingers crossed) NCAA tourney time. Managed to eek out a win against UCF despite some really poor shooting nights from some regulars. Tako Fall is one big, lanky, and dorky looking (according to my wife) dude.

You caught UCF at a good time since their main scorer is still out. Also helped that you two were in the same tournament last week and you could scout them. Main problem I see with Mizzou is relying too heavily on jumpshots. Go cold some nites and it’s trouble if you can’t work the paint.

PC has another rough game against mid major competition, beating Rider out of the MAAC 88-84 and trailing in the second half.

No real complaints here, they've lost to Maine, Brown, and Holy Cross before and that's just the ones I haven't blocked out of my mind. They will need to bring it once conference play starts though.
