I think they had to beat one of Michigan or Purdue.. barring a B1G tourney run they're out. Too bad for them, this was their shot before the FBI case brings them down

All of my those years meaning my entire life.
They have a championship more recently than Pitt. :slug:

I honestly hope they can put some sort of sustained success together. They'll get crowds if they get to the point that they're a perennial tourney team.

Jokes aside is ups making it in this year? Need to prepare myself for IRL attempts by ups fans to talk hoops for first time in decades
They are not/should not. They'll be in the NIT where they belong.
A run to B10 champ game loss with two wins over ranked opponents on the way is a no go for at large?

They do that, then yes, they'll be in. They need a deep run to have a shot. As it stands now, they're out.

You can't spell Nittany Lions without N-I-T. That will be the case again this year. If they lose to Nebraska on Sunday, then they're gonna have to win the conference tournament because they just don't have the quality wins necessary for an at-large berth. Perhaps next year, they'll try to upgrade their non-con schedule a bit instead of playing the Coppin States of the world.

BTW, has Pitt made it to double digits yet?

There’s no question that Pitt takes a bit of a hit in football because of being an urban school. They don’t have tbat competitive disadvantage in basketball for a number of reasons. Hopefully this new regime can figure out that it’s not difficult to put together a competitive team. Even UPS is sort of figuring that out.

Nebraska, Nebraska, Nebraska. Bleh, this is disappointing. Come on, Pat. I know the team is still kinda young, but this really should be a tournament team.

Side note: Nebraska’s coach looks like a serious dweeb, holy hell.

34-17 at half, if the D can tighten up I have no doubt Trace can put together a couple drives here.

Playing like butt today. Got to give it to Huskers and their fans, they brought it today. Now need a yuge run in the B1GMBT. Got the bye + a very winnable first matchup.

Hah. Let’s be real though, in a football scenario, it’d be Trace and the Lions up 34-17 at the half, not down.

After Mark Schlabach's explosive article on the scandal at Arizona with Sean Miller, there are suddenly cracks showing up in his report.

I've thought from the beginning that there was something fishy here. Did Schlabach actually recognize Sean Miller's voice on the wiretap? No, because he's getting it from a source who shouldn't be leaking this stuff. And you can talk all you want about a payment to someone but until you actually MAKE the payment, then you're not in any trouble. Scrutiny, definitely, but not trouble. From a PR perspective, Miller did the right thing sitting out the Oregon game. But where I think that there's something to this is that he hasn't gone back to practice yet (placed on suspension by Arizona), he has been church mouse silent on the situation, and the Arizona Board of Regents are holding a meeting on Thursday specifically about Miller's contract. Now, I know Miller's lawyer is probably telling him to stay quiet but if you weren't guilty and were going to be 'vindicated' as Miller said in his statement on Saturday, don't you think he'd be defending himself in the media as much as possible?

Miller issued the denial you were looking for, and it appears the Zona admin believes him as he's going to be coaching tonite. ESPN getting burned would be delicious.

I don't know about you but if I'm issuing a stern denial to charges like these, I'm NOT reading them off a prepared statement in a flat tone. Miller just pulled a Rafael Palmeiro at that press conference and I'm not really all that convinced by what he said.

Who is Mark Schlabach? I thought ESPN was down to Mike Golic's kid, Dan LeBarard's Dad, and Mena Kimes.

Watkins is out for the B1G tourney. A tough road to the tourney just got much tougher. Win tonight, and they have to try to Thrweep the Buckeyes. Ugh.

Tickets for these games going for $6 in NYC. I know the B1G wants to be big time but.... go where your core fans are. I'm sure PSU and Rutgers, Maryland and maybe OSU will get more fans in NY than Chicago but otherwise... stick to the midwest. Shockingly no neutral observers want to see PSU/Northwestern
