While not the solution, he's certainly not the problem.
The problem imo is we have a bunch of jhays, guys that fit your quote.
The problem is in the owners box.

Some Neal Huntington quotes from pirates fest this past weekend.
"We would love Andrew McCutchen to retire a Pirate; We also want to win a World Series championship. At times, those two are contradictory”
“Players come and players go”
On Jung Ho Kang’s potential return
”We don’t think it’s going to happen”

Right, if the front office doesn't think this current ML roster is worth investing in, then I don't see why I should have any interest in it either. Plus, I'm probably more comfortable just following the farm system.

There was a twitter post that showed Nutting at a WVU game instead of Pirates Fest.

If you're gonna blame your fans, I would expect a full court press of goodwill after yet another disappointing season where it's getting hard to deny poor performance across the board from a management aspect.

I wonder what the asking price for Harvey is, as I know JHay has been linked to the Mets

*I hope I don't have to add a disclaimer to each post that I acknowledge Nutting sucks, because I do like to discuss baseball beyond that

I think I'll just follow my hometown Altoona Curve, YOUR Eastern League Champions, next year.

I don't think you need to post that disclaimer. The Pirates seem to be ready to blow it up if the rumors of Cole/Cutch/Jhay getting moved are true.

I think that would ultimately take Harvey out of the equation and the Pirates try to go younger and cheaper.

I don't think JHay being moved really means much but yeah if Cutch and Cole are gone the next few years will be ugly. Harvey is just interesting to me since he's under arbitration for two more years.

I also think moving Cutch and Cole is the smart thing to do, which makes me sad

I was only more or less saying that Jhay was worth money contract wise, not to the team wise.

If Cole and Cutch get moved this year (and I agree it's the right thing to do), I am realllly curious how the gen pop handles it. I think it further tanks season attendance and we (the fan) get further blamed for it.

I hate this so much because the Pirates operate this team like a grocery store in terms of financially viable. I want an owner who puts logic aside and tries to win, Nutting seems outside of that ego of owning a sports team, and that blows.

If Cutch and Cole get moved things will get ugly. Which semi-stinks because I could see management hanging on to them to save face but it hurts the team in the long run.

I heard some Yankees talk last night (NYC radio) and acquiring Cole seems on their radar. The large issue is that they expect the Yanks to trade Clint Frazier.

I read the Twins are also interested and their package would include Nick Gordon. I've never been really high on Gordon

If they could get Frazier back for Cole, I think they have to make that trade.

It would be nice if they had any idea what they could expect from Meadows. I know prospect outlets are writing him off because of injury concerns, but I think he could still end up being their long term #3 hitter.

They have to make a Frazier for Cole deal if available. Not sure the Yanks would go for it, but they have a surplus of OF, and need pitching..

Frazier also seems like the obvious choice because hows he get into the OF with Stanton and Judge?
