Coming back in a five and a half hour match down two sets to a Top 4 in the world player that is a decade younger than you.

And to think. If Novak would have just gotten vaccinated, he’d have likely won and he’d be alone in first, not one back from the leader.

Yup. This win is awesome on so many levels. If you would have asked me before Novak went nuts, I didn't think anyone had a shot of stopping him to post a high record number.

I'd imagine this goes down as one of the greatest achievements in the history of the sport given all the ingredients.

Some perspective on why the crowd was so into it, on top of crowds generally being pro Rafa anyway

One of the best matches I've ever seen - Nadal/Fritz

Nadal pulls out of Wimbledon. Congrats Djokovic. A Djokovic-Krygios final would be entertaining though.

Didn't know we had a tennis thread so I'll use this to brag about my Wimbledon experience. I ended up scoring front row Center Court tickets to day 2 of play. We saw Iga Swiatek, Rafa Nadal, and Serena Williams play. My wife is a huge Serena fan and we had been trying (and failing) to see her in Cincinnati for the last 10 years so finally seeing her and it being at Wimbledon no less was a huge deal. Had a great day, the grounds are gorgeous, and strawberries and cream are delicious, and the seats were unreal.

p.s. **** Novak.

Great pics. I was watching part of those matches on that day and I kept looking for the Pirates hat in the crowd in the background but I wouldn't have thought to look in the front row. Nice score.

That’s pretty sick nocera. I am jealous

As a side note, I’ve never wanted both players to lose a match more than Joker-Kyrigos

Yeah the writing has been on the wall for a while now. I feel very fortunate that we were able to see what looks like her last Wimbledon match. I'm sure my wife will want to go to New York now but I have a feeling that's going to be a tough ticket to get.
