Kyrgios had a clear path to his first major and he blew it.

Kyrgios is over the top. Like, it’d be one thing if it was every so often from him ala John McEnroe, but it’s not. It’s every single match. It feels fake and forced.

Tough match between Swiatek/Pegula. Made up for by Sinner/Alcaraz
Tennis thread
I’d love to watch the rest, but I’m not going to make it.

Jessica Pegula is the worlds richest athlete. That annoys me for some reason.

Man...that Alcaraz/Sinner match is one of the best I've ever seen...worth being a little tired today. I also learned that I'm going to the women's singles semis tonight - my girl surprised me with tickets...

I’m always amazed at how of the major sports, tennis players’ prime is by far the youngest. Like Swiatek is number 1 in the world at 21 and Alcaraz is number 4 and a step away from the US Open final at 19.
For comparison, Tiger didn’t reach number 1 until 22 and Lebron didn’t win an MVP until he was 25
also, I hope your enjoying this match mikey

Great time, bud. Wanted a tiebreaker in the second women's match, but I'll take it. Tough day for Caroline Garcia. Watched her take four warm up hits and immediately bet against her.

I wonder if at some point Alcaraz gets hit with exhaustion after the nine plus hours in the previous two matches

Who knows when that works for you or against you in short tournament play...Caroline Garcia spent about 45 minutes on the court and was awful in the semis. Some nights you're the dog, and some nights you're the hydrant....

Tiafoe looks like the one who is tired.

woof that was gritty. Alcaraz has more of the crowd than I expected but Tiafoe will need the crowd’s help in the fifth
Tennis thread
Tiafoe came out of nowhere in that fourth set. He looked dead.

Alcaraz has been perfection on those lobs

Tiafoe battled but Alvaraz somehow looked fresh even in the 5th set.
