I work too hard to use some crusty ass paper towel.

Mr. Moneybags out here wasting good paper products

It's not just the first one that's gluey, it's also the one that it's stuck to which, with select-a-size, is the fourth. As such, I remove the first four half sheets from every roll and set them aside for cleaning up cat puke or something like that.

You unstick the first paper towel... absolutely. This isn't up for debate.

I'm all about leaving a situation better than you found it. If it's as easy as replacing a paper towel roll or toilet paper roll and unsticking it, I'll do it. If you're a selfish jackass, then don't, but understand that you're a selfish jackass.

When my wife divorces me and cites "changing the toilet paper roll but not unsticking the first TP" I'll think back to this and remember where I went wrong.

Right. Just as it takes the next person to use it 2 seconds to do. I always replace the roll when it's out. Even if it's low and I know the next person will use the last of it, I'll replace the roll and leave the old one next to it. It never even occurred to me that I should also unstick it. And if somebody else changes it, it's not unstuck then either. I've never once complained that my wife changed the TP roll but I had to unstick it myself before I could wipe. The horror.

Good point about the emergency paper towel use. It is minisculely helpful.

But um if i notice someone didn't unstick the tp i dump the whole roll in the toilet and get up and walk away without wiping. I'm not going to sit there for a few more seconds trying to finesse that thing

Leaving a cart in the grocery store unattended… cool or no?

I think there’s some pretty obvious qualifiers: you leave it in the middle of an aisle: yeah, you’re a dick. But I’m asking about putting it in a non busy area, like in front of a wall or in the flowers section where it’s not high traffic.

For context, last night at the store I checked out and as I was leaving I passed the floral section and thought “hey, some flowers would be nice at home.” So I get some. I put my cart along the wall, nothing behind it, about 6 or so feet of clearance between my cart and the other side of the aisle. And I go to the self checkout quick to buy the flowers. Some doofus (in my opinion) was walking by my cart and his bag snagged on my cart. His fancy French yogurt falls out of his bag and since it’s glass it breaks. I get to my cart and he starts yelling at me. I think I said something to the tune of “sorry the 6 feet of clearance wasn’t enough for you…” and walked out.

Am I the dadhole here?

He is at fault for spending too much on yogurt with questionable value. And for being mad at an unattended cart.

How were the flowers

Your response could have been nicer despite no wrong doing on your part.

Buying flowers in a grocery store and buying yogurt in a glass container...are the bigger stories.

Although if this store is Wegmans, then carry on because Wegmans is the best.

And yes… I could have been nicer.

Flowers were great. We get two of their $5 value bouquets and they usually last about two weeks in a vase.

We have to work on your trash talk. “My bad. I was buying flowers for you wife”

Ohhh… that would have been good. I think he was there with his wife and daughter, though.

But then I would have had to give her the flowers as a follow through and I wouldn’t have flowers.

Back to the cart thing. I’m not crazy about people leaving carts like that, but if one were to cause me to drop and break something, I would chalk that one up for meow being a dumbass and not feel any resentment toward the cart owner.

No no no no. Then it seems like the woman he is with is not his wife and then his wife thinks he is cheating and it ruins his entire life. Boom. Roasted.
