Just be able to get out, and make sure it doesn't pack down to ice in well-traveled spots.

The driveway is much easier to control with a snow blower if it snows enough.

Shoveling snow...the job is to get the cars out, make sure the family doesn’t slip/isn’t covered in snow and carve out a path for people on the sidewalk. It’s not a beauty contest.

So my question to 5AF is if you take pride in your shoveling and make it look nice or you just go minimally functional.

People crack me up with the shoveling. Yesterday it wasn't sticking on anything non-grass, and people just have to be out there shoveling whatever they can. My neighbor, if we get 6" of snow, will be out there shoveling each inch as it falls. People get very weirdly obsessive with that.

Depends on wet snow vs. dry snow. Dry snow, let it pile up for 6-8". Wet snow? Every 2-3 inches.

i want to approach it this way. but i'm always one scoop away from a back injury, so mine is quick and looks like it was done by a drunk person who may or may not have MS. so i suppose the "ruling" here isn't that important since i don't really have a choice. but thank you, all, for your feedback.

I like to shovel snow most of the time...so I go for distance and style always...

The key is to get as much snow as you can on the shovel and with a jerking, twisting motion, try to hurl it across the street...

True or false: your leaf raking is 80% hockey technique, 20% practical raking.

You want to use your back and groin. Take your legs completely out of the equation

Haha, I imagine I would just try to wrist shot leaves away from me, yeah...that said, I haven't raked since I was a teenager...

Well you hold a rake like a hockey stick, no? I guess you could have both hands over the top - if you like doing things badly

I am more hockey player than leaf raker when I get into it, yes. My pizzazz for leaf raking is the inverse of my snow shoveling.

Taking the pot out from under the drip and placing your mug under there. Office faux pa or a-okay?

Are you in my mind? I was just thinking this today. I've heard arguments that you dilute the pot since it's stronger in the beginning than at the end of the drip (I don't buy it). I don't drink pot coffee, but I'd allow it.

i agree with the dilution thing. I've done it where I remove the pot and put my cup under and it's noticeably stronger
