I don't have the body for slim anything, and I ain't that overweight. In fact I've still pretty much got my bird legs, its the gut that kills it. So you can't wear tight shorts and then top it off with a baggy shirt.
As such, cargo shorts are fair game. Even without the cargo pockets, that's the fit I'm typically after.

Yeah, that's kind of an issue with me...it's tough to really do slim fit because of my thigh/ass combo...I'm no Martin St. Louis or Sid Crosby certainly...but I don't have two threads hanging off my shorts either...

Stretch cotton (I'm pretty sure that's what it is, I'll check if I remember when I get home) has been pretty diesel for me...

My ass was a bottleneck for a while. It compromised every pair of shorts or pants I owned.

I went from 217 to 185 (am 6'3 - wasn't obese) and now I fit. Hooray.

and I like cargo shorts. I oscillate between presumably homeless and sharp dressed constantly.
