Kenneth has a good point. If it's the only tree then this may be a different discussion

i guess the other question is: how many trees are we talking about here? if this is a tree lined street, tough beans to all. if this is a one tree situation, I could see making that extra effort.

The leaves that do fall in my yard just get run over with the riding mower. Aren't they supposed to be good fertilizer for the lawn?

I just mulch mine with my mulching mower. It is, IIRC, supposed to be better for the lawn. Even fairly large chucks of leaves or piles of mulched leaf are gone by spring.

I have a maple tree that drops leaves into my neighbor's yard. If I get to them first, I'll rake them back onto my side to mulch. On occasion, he has also used his leaf blower to gather up leaves on my side. I've told him he can feel free to blow any leaves over to my side, but he's never done that. I don't think either of us really care all that much.

My leaves are significant. Like, 35-40 leaf bags per year and thats after chopping a lot up with the mower.

I have 2 decently sized maples in between our front yards. I've got about 10 feet of grass between my driveway and his yard and the maples are situated there.

This is pretty much my situation. Although I usually eclipse 50 bags/yr. Already put out 17 bags last week

I did 13 bags today. Its demoralizing when you look up at the trees and see some aren't even close to being done yet.

I love yard work but this is my most hated job.

Leaves - I just rake the heaviest areas, under the redbud and hickories, into the flowerbeds around the edges of the property and mulch the rest. This year for the first time, I spent a few minutes every day to pick up the day's fresh walnuts and pitch them into a pile near one of the trees. Usually I'd end up with hundreds of little piles of black goo and walnuts embedded all over the lawn - a nightmare to rake or mow. So worth it.

Trees don't shed their leaves here. If they did, my backyard and my street would be Leafegeddon with all of the oaks around. As it is, we should have the fattest squirrels around with all the acorns.

Our previous house had a couple of live oaks that would drop leaves...twice a year. At certain points, there would be too many to mulch, so it was raking for days. I was in my late 20s early 30s, working in a physical job and it nearly killed me. Now? RIP DG66. No way could I move that amount of leaves, even with my kids' "help."

I just wish the trees would lose their leaves at the same time. In our yard, the thornless honey locust lose their leaves first starting in early September, then the maples and some type of cherry tree lose theirs, then the birch, then our willow, our neighbor's oaks and our bushes, and finally the Bradford pears in December.

Right now the maples have lost all theirs and the birch is about 1/3 of the way done.

I wish all my maples would go at once. One looks like it shook them off ala the Whomping Willow, and the other six are still half green.

I can't tell trees apart. They either have needles or leaves. If they have a fruit I might be able to figure it out.

My maples are about 80% done. My enormous 55 year old oak is about 10% done.

My two pear trees are scheduled to get cut down whenever the tree cutters feel like showing up so let's hope it's before they drop their leaves.

We have over half a dozen mature fruit trees in our backyard. Mrs Tif is like, "Is this one nectarines or tangerines?" and I'm like :|

For those with free-floating non-integrated webcams, where do you put the camera? On the top of the monitor so it looks down on you making you look like you're laying on your back in the chair? Or under the monitor so you're looking down on everyone like some kind of demigod?

I have a quad-monitor thing going on so regardless of top or bottom I'm always looking off to the side anyway.

Since dodint's question went over like a lead balloon, I present a new question:

What is the optimal way to eat a meatball? With pasta? In soup? On pizza? Hoagie? Other?

I best enjoy them as the featured item in a pasta dish.
