I'm not terrified of remote work in the slightest. Certainly not the way meow is afraid of.............. "wrinkles"? *checks thread to be sure I read that right* Yup, wrinkles.

I encounter a school bus frequently in the morning on my way home from dropping my kids off. It’s a four lane road with a grass median. Where the bus stops, there are turning lanes for each direction. I stop, but literally no one else does. Looking at the NC laws, it’s still not clear to me whether I should be stopping or not.

SC's law on this is less ambiguous: are you behind the bus (regardless of how many lanes)? Yes: You must stop. Are you on a two lane road and facing the bus? If yes, you must stop. https://scdps.sc.gov/ohsjp/DrivinginSC/school-bus-law
Four lane, median, no median, etc. nope, unless you are behind the bus.
NC it looks like in several instances you do have to stop - but I would understand why others wouldn't stop.

If there's a median you don't have to stop. At least in PA

Yeah, grass median means you don't have to stop (unless you are behind it).

There is no median where the bus stops. There are turning lanes so the median breaks. In theory, you could get off the bus, come around the front and cross the street all while staying on road surface.
Although, there is nothing but woods on the one side

Four lane road with a turning lane? You don't have to stop from the other direction in NC...

I'm always going to err on the side of caution and stop for a school bus. Unless it's on a highway (why would a school bus stop there anyway?) on the other side of a divided median, I'm stopping. Blare your horn at me, I don't care.

a few years ago GA changed the law saying that you had to stop on a road with a turning lane. it was such a **** show that a few months later they changed it back.

It's really interesting that a state would soften their stance on any reasonable "stop for a school bus" rules...it takes a fair amount of work to modify those laws/regs...

That could be erring on the side of danger.I'm always going to err on the side of caution and stop for a school bus. Unless it's on a highway (why would a school bus stop there anyway?) on the other side of a divided median, I'm stopping. Blare your horn at me, I don't care.
I've wondered this about stopping on a 45mph 4 lane boulevard with a median with a row of trees down the center. So if someone else stopped I'd be prepared. But I don't trust others would be paying attention

Here's the thing: I've seen many dipshits run right past a school bus with its red lights on. This being on a two lane road. So I may be one of a select few that stop when I shouldn't, but I'd rather be that guy than the other person deliberately plowing through a school bus stop sign. That could be erring on the side of danger.I'm always going to err on the side of caution and stop for a school bus. Unless it's on a highway (why would a school bus stop there anyway?) on the other side of a divided median, I'm stopping. Blare your horn at me, I don't care.

At the very least, I'm slowing down to make sure the kids are not coming my way before I proceed.

my post may have been confusing. sorry about that. in GA they made a law that said you DIDN'T have to stop on a 4 lane road with a turning lane in the middle. they changed it back to requiring you to stop on any road that didn't have a median. It's really interesting that a state would soften their stance on any reasonable "stop for a school bus" rules...it takes a fair amount of work to modify those laws/regs...

No, I think you're good...making a law saying when you DON'T have to stop for a school bus (I guess it was gray area before) is just very interesting...even if they ended up "fixing" it...

I just purchased a cardigan to stay warm when I'm in the office. The office, in general, is cold AF. Instead of being just another financial industry d-bag in a Patagonia vest, I'll be a d-bag in a sweater. Is the cardigan an acceptable look for the kangaroo
