It would seem that came across harsher than I intended.

Boss calls coworker, says last night was bad and she's not coming in (sickness-related).

Boss calls back later and says she's coming in.

What do? I don't want to get sick, but I feel like my options are extremely limited.

Thoughts and prayers. Your bowels must be in knots over this tough decision.

Wha...what?

Our supervisor (who is the only one in this week) called someone at the office and said she wasnt coming in because she was up all night being sick. She called back a few minutes later and said that she changed her mind and was coming in.

I do not want to get sick. She sounds terrible. She has already given most of the office a cold earlier this month because she refuses to take sick time.

What would you do if you were in this position?

Got it. In your situation (single guy with an entry level position), I take this one on the chin and stay there to work. In my position (management with small kids at home), I GTFO.

I would go to work and do my job. If I get sick, I would take a sick day. It seems pretty straight forward.

depending on how casual your office environment is I'd consider saying something gently to the boss, especially if it's very clear she's got something contagious.

there was an able bodied man using a hand-held, battery-powered leaf blower to clean the snow off his car this morning

a. savvy veteran move that enhances efficiency and minimizes effort

or

b. we are becoming a nation of wusses

Wish I'd thought of that. I wasn't in a hurry, though.

It's better than the doofus I saw on Rt. 65N - the entire back of his car (window, trunk, lights) were completely covered.

Let's see what this savvy veteran does when the wet snow comes.

depends how old he was and how old the person judging him was.

ie, if he was 25 and you asked a 65 year old guy, he's just a lazy millenial

if you ask me -- my man

She pretty much said she was coming in because she didn't trust us to be able to work without her (our other boss is on vacation).

She's a very high-strung individual. Saying something probably would not go over well. I subconsciously gave her the stink eye yesterday when she came over to my desk to ask me something and she gave me the ol' "Is something wrong" deal.

You should go to HR and let them know your boss is creating an uncomfortable workspace for you. Maybe talk it over with mom when you get home tonight. Stay safe, pal.
