Yeah, I've been out of the market for about 10 days now. Just don't like it. I'll jump back in when things settle. Sold my last position on Feb-17.

I'm in a handful of things that I expect to pop in a couple months, I just wish I got in them now and not a month ago.

This is the first day I didn't even turn my terminal on. More because my two real jobs are taking me to the wood shed than anything else, but, still.

Big money dumping stocks to drive prices down in preparation for stimulus re-buy.

What is a SPAC, and are they the next speculative market that will tank the finance sector?

SPACs are becoming less of a sure thing as the deals get stranger,
So many dangerous insinuations in this here headline.

"less of a sure thing" implies that this newly invented "thing" was considered a sure thing. That sounds familiar (MBS cough cough)

"deals get stranger" deals get "stranger" when these turds starts inventing "creative" investment products.

I feel like this would have been a headline about mortgage backed securities a year ahead of the '08 crash.

Investing in a mortgage back security makes sense on paper, especially if you were operating under the assumption that the credit ratings on the MBS are accurate.

With a SPAC stock you don't even get the luxury of buying actual assets. You buy a stock with the hope some other idiot with a stimulus check will buy your share for more or the idiot that actually started the spac will find something interesting to buy. At least when you bought an MBS in 2006 you were buying something that has an actual asset.

Quick, someone make an ETF and fill it with SPACs.

Betting on 1 thru 36 in roulette is technically a losing strategy...you got to be selective...

The thing about SPACs is that, worst case, you can redeem your shares for $10 + interest each if they fail to find a partner or if you want out before the merger. As such, there is limited downside and potentially unlimited upside. That said, I'm currently down over $350 on NGAC, but can now only lose less than 30¢ per share max.

It's been a learning experience. I'd consider investing in one again, but probably only if I could get in under $11/ share.

Yeah that's what the article TL posted was about. Too many SPACs leads to them taking companies public that really shouldn't be. Gotta do your DD.

Yeah. Tech are back at pre covid levels. Crazy.

Id Imagine with so much bot buying they’ll be back up just as quick as the went down, but still.

Around 11 this morning I was tempted to throw another $1k into TD and double my positions in $ITRM and $ONTX with a ridiculous average down. Had I done so I would now be in the green for both investments. I don’t know if I should use this as some kind of learning moment or just hate myself.
