October, mid to late. Should be a real nice rebound then...I'm already compiling homerun calls, despite theta decay...

I just read that some are predicting the 401k limit to jump to $22.5k in 2023. That'd be a welcome change. Now do IRAs and DFSAs you **** cowards.

In other news, my credit union has some nice CDs available right now:

24 month: 3.56%
30 month: 3.82%
36 month: 4.08%

I took advantage of that 36-month CD, as it was a no brainer.

In other news, @DigitalGypsy66, Marcus is up to 1.90%.

It didn't dawn on me until this morning that I'm going to have to adjust 401k contributions for the remainder of the year so that I don't over-contribute. I wish there was an automated process where the new company would see how much I've contributed and cut it off at the correct time.

Also, yikes...

Is the maximum contribution based on just your side, or does it also include employer match?

There are limits for both, but the limit on the employer side is something insane like $58k? Makes no sense.

$20,500 of your own contributions for 2022, and $61,000 for your employer match. Your retirement account should separate those two figures to show how much you yourself have actually contributed.

Thanks, about 2/3 mine 1/3 theirs. I won't hit the limit, but I'm closer than I thought. I guess that's a good thing.

when I was growing up my grandma purchased a lot of EE bonds in my name and some have fully matured but I’m trying to figure out how the value is calculated. For example, using this site (https://treasurydirect.gov/BC/SBCPrice) I have a bond that has a denomination of $500, issued in 08/1993, that’s worth $791. But it says the issue price was $250

where the does the $500 come into play? does the interest accrue from the $500 rather than the issue price of $250?

I think the way those bonds worked was that you get the face value on maturity (the $500), and you buy the bond for half of the face value (the $250). If you don't cash at maturity, you can get additional interest up to a point, but I think there's a point where interest stops.

Bonds in 93 matured (doubled) in 18 years but continue to accrue additional interest for 30 years according to a very quick Google search. So your $291 started accruing in 2011.

I basically bet on a market collapse yesterday morning. So, I turned a 5x trade in the last 30 hours or so. Real nice return. I'm going back in for more, I don't think this is the bottom. If we break SPY 385, we could really gap down hard...there's a lot of SPY gaps...a lot of volatility, so you can go lotto calls (not me) or puts (me) with short term bangs like I just did.

Damn...could have been 15x right now. ATP - always take profits. But **** man, could have turned 15x if I had held on a little longer...

My re-dips are already up 2x. If we find some support at 385-390, we could catch a nice quick bounce...

This is a high-risk option trader environment right here...let's ride...
