mac5155: GME has been brushing up against $50 for the last hour or so. Gonna be an interesting next week or so.

Yep, wild ride so far. Up over 30 percent.

No absolutely no rush - just want to learn and start slowly. All this GME talk basically said I should start learning now.
I feel like GME isn't a short term thing though, at least not days. Maybe weeks to a few months, yes. It also feels like a loophole someone found and the collective at wsb jumped on to force someone else's hand.

Yea I for sure will. Was thinking of just going in with a set number and if I lose it, that's it. Like you were saying, very much treating this like gambling as I know enough to be dangerous(ly wrong).

Yeah...and you can even split up that money in there to give you some peace of mind...

Let's say you go in with $2k or something...

Maybe take $1k and go safe with it...5 shares of AAPL, 3 of ARKQ, 3 of ARKF by my eye gets you to about $1k. That's all safe, steady growth stuff.

Then you can take $1k and try out some of the new psychedelic mushrooms stocks that are out there, you can dick around with options trading (that's how you can actually lose down to $0), and spreads and all that stuff...

I always fear that people will go in, play around, lose money and not trust the idea that their savings belongs here and not in some dusty old savings account...or in grandpa NTP's emu farm or whatever...that's the only reason why I recommend that, you'll see growth (well, the market is redonk high right now, in my opinion) in the safe areas...

"I took investing tips from Mikey" is the start of a story a homeless person will be telling in 10 years.

That's true...they won't have a home. Land is for poor people. They'll be on a yacht...in space...a space yacht...

Rule #1: Don't invest anything you aren't willing to lose, and fast. Get your feet wet with a few shares of whatever you think may be a good thing, but do your research first. GME was up to $75 a few minutes ago, but down $64 now because of some paper handed pussies who sold too soon, so now may be the best time to get in today. I think this has a shot to finish above $70 today alone, but who knows. Everyone could sell and it could tank back down to $40.

I'm playing with a real small amount right now (sub 500$ ) just to get my bearings so I don't lose a ton of cash.

So did anyone answer morkle's question or was it basically "download robinhood and go **** around"?

Because I have the same question, and I downloaded robinhood and funded my account but haven't **** around yet. Don't know the basics of what to look for.

Like my friend morkle here, all the chatter about r/wsb and specifically following gme the last 10 days has made me realize I need to know what I'm doing so I can go out there and make an informed decision on whether to jump on something like that in the future. Also looking to start creating a short and mid-term investment portfolio.

I dumped $500 in to Blackberry when it was at one of its dips today, it closed quite a bit higher. No clue if it will go higher over the weekend or next week, but it's $500 fun money for me to see what happens.

They have an exclusive agreement with AWS for vehicle on board technology. I think it's only a matter of time before Amazon comes up with their equivalent of Apple car play.
