Investing, Stock Market and Retirement Planning Thread

How long were you in on TSLA, and was it longer than you're normally in on something?
Part of six trading days is pretty long, yeah. But it makes sense as this trade was completely outside of my framework. Remember, I just parked the money there expecting to hold for less than an hour, but I actually parked it at the very top of what ended up being a several day lull.

If this were a normal framework trade by me I would've stopped out immediately, almost literally, and would have had my money in other securities later in the day, but, NOPE.

So why not just hold it there a bit longer?

Like i mentioned, I didn't want to hold it into After Hours. Remember, I don't believe in it at all and was very uncomfortable trapped that high on an overvalued meme stock.

It's fine, I learned my lesson, happy to be out and back to the mundane grinding where I belong.

I only glanced at F but it blew up last week (right when TSLA tanked) and then crashed back down to its normal (recent) consolidation point. So with market enthusiasm high I will probably look there first tomorrow.

Missed a good chance at a $10/share run on $TKAT today. First checked on it under $14, and would have bought in if I wasn't all tied up in $SOS. Was even going to instant transfer to RH to do it, but found that they don't support that stock. It topped out over $24 before close.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to be content with the 12.69% $SOS picked up.

I’ve had it for 12 months now. Checking the ticker is a fun little diversion.

But I’ve learned that there’s no day trading this thing. It’s a confusing beast.

It dropped 20 points overnight.

I was right about F but didn't trust my instinct, waited for market open to buy and it shot past my entry and is up 20pts. Could have had it pre-market at 12.66 and now it's 12.90. The first 5 minutes of the trading day still gives me the willies and I need to get over it.

Because it's just as easy to get **** burned in the first 5 minutes.

I've officially dipped my toe in the stock market, buying one whole share of DKNG. I expect to be rich in hours.

Everything is getting absolutely hammered in my portfolio except for the VG index funds.
