Topped out at what $155? Then fell hard. It’d being interesting to read a breakdown of this after it’s over that explains it like someone would to a child.

It was a number of things, and I think weeded out a bunch of paper hand dodints. I'm sure somebody will explain the day in another thread that includes data. I believe there was probably some margin calling, too.

They borrowed money to buy shares on margin, and now have to pay for the shares at market price (which is much, much higher now).ELL5 margin calling

So a margin call would expect the price to rise drastically ?

Note: This is not investment device. I just started doing this on Friday and am playing with house money that I don't care if I lose.

If you borrowed on margin to buy a specific stock, a margin call would generally lead a lower price in a stock. When a margin call happens, whoever lent the money says "hi, pay us back some money." and in order to get the money, the borrower has to liquidate some or all of their holdings. If their holdings are concentrated in one stock, it can lead to a price drop in that stock. So a margin call would expect the price to rise drastically ?
in a way, it causes the opposite effect of a short squeeze.

See also the movie “Margin Call.” Jeremy Irons as usual is great. If you borrowed on margin to buy a specific stock, a margin call would generally lead a lower price in a stock.
