We all got our hustles, and i respect that, but lets not act like the little guy is getting repressed because one group of wall streeters is betting against another set of wall streeters.Cmon Mr marsupial. You rip off credit companies for rewards points, open up checking accounts for $600 at a time, and berate airline customer service employees. You get yourself plenty of wins against the "big guys"I'm just blown away by the little guys finally getting a win, and everyone just freaking out. Nobody should feel sorry for these hedge funds. Nobody.
The credit card companies are predators and you can't deny that. Banks getting money for free and lending it to us for asinine rates. I'll give ya the airline customer service employees one.

Basically. They have gotten rich off of us all this time (and helped people retire and all that, fair enough)...but they controlled things. They ran the playground...now we got the seesaw. Good foothold to start...This is people bullying bullies, right? Nothing gets meow more erect than people bullying bullies

No, I'm against irresponsibly giving people the idea that :
a. they are entitled to this imaginary money
b. This is a healthy and sustainable idea to manipulate the market like this
Michael, my beef is not with you. I've followed this thread enough to know that speculating on the market is one of your many jams, and I respect that.
Getting the hoi polloi to blindly throw money into a stock to prove a point against some rando hedge fund? Can't respect that.

This is also just like a MLM scam. Some dudes go on reddit and convince a bunch of nerds that they need to buy a stock to stick it to the man. Granted, I don't care about the short sellers getting boned, they deserve it. I have a problem with the initial organizers being able to make millions by getting a bunch of internet nerds to follow them on the scheme. People are bound to lose money on this when they don't get out on time, so it's not a victimless thing. No, I'm against irresponsibly giving people the idea that :

Really, the only way to prevent this from happening is to eliminate shorts, no?

Naked shorting should be off the table completely, IMO. Perhaps you could argue that shorting in general is acceptable.
