I could also see Reddit having to pull the plug on the forum. If it provided a forum for investors to manipulate the market, I don't see how that is any different from a handful of large investment funds coordinating market activity.

I don't agree with it but the hedge fund people likely have very good relationships with the SEC. They're going to try to lobby as much as possible to make sure this doesn't happen again

Squeezing a short isn't illegal. Whether it is ethical is up for debate. But no one with half a brain thinks that these activities are the product of a well functioning market.

If you short over 100% of the float, you deserve to get squeezed. How is that even possible? There's where the SEC should be looking.
