Good take by the fed to leave rates unchanged

For those with Marcus by Goldman Sachs online savings accounts, are you still happy with them? I just recently ran across the concept of the online high-yield savings account, and Marcus seems to be one of the top-rated choices. I have around $30,000 in emergency/vacation/future car funds in a savings account that is currently earning jack squat in interest, and it seems like a good place to park that money. I was also looking at American Express's online savings account. It earns slightly less interest, but I already have an AMEX card and could manage the account through the same web page.

I've been with them since they were called GS Bank, and love them. Quick, easy transfers, no charges for wire transfers, and an always upward trending interest rate. They either match or beat the other banks when rate increases happen. The only negative is that they have no connector for Quicken, but really, that doesn't matter at all in the end.For those with Marcus by Goldman Sachs online savings accounts, are you still happy with them? Just a quick glance indicates that AMEX has a rate that is 0.05 percentage points lower than Marcus. Ultimately, that is like $15 a year on an account of $30,000. So I guess you have to ask yourself is that extra $15 worth the price of having to go to another web pageFor those with Marcus by Goldman Sachs online savings accounts, are you still happy with them? Yeah, I'm a newer Marcus account holder (because of this thread lol) and it's excellent. I had a similar amount of money in a bank savings account, earning nothing in interest. I made more in interest in the first two months in the Marcus account than I had in YEARS in the other account.

sold SNAP the day before it ran up 10% this week. That was fun to watch. Still made about 20% in it but that hurt a little

I think that is 0.25% over what you're looking at right now.

Just got an email that my Marcus account's interest rate is dropping to 2.15% from 2.25% tomorrow.
I am sad.

Damn, so they’re following Ally going backwards, too. That’s a shame. I guess it’s time to look into some alternatives (Wealthfront, perhaps).

I use them (Marcus, currently) as secondary accounts, linked to my primary credit union. Transferring money between the two is a 2-day max waiting period, so it’s pretty easy to access in my scenario.
I may just move a large portion of my cash to a no penalty CD, since rates on them are decent.

I have it linked to my main checking account. Direct deposited from my paycheck.
I also added it to my Paypal, so I can use it on stealthy purchases from time to time.

Despite falling interest rates, Wealthftont just RAISED their cash account rate to 2.57%!Damn, so they’re following Ally going backwards, too. That’s a shame. I guess it’s time to look into some alternatives (Wealthfront, perhaps).
I have Amex savings myself, but I am tempted now to give Wealthftont a try...

My old pension account completed its transfer to my 403b yesterday. Good timing, given the current state of the market.

Marcus just dropped their rate to 2.00%. I was on the fence when they dropped last time, but I'm moving on now.Just got an email that my Marcus account's interest rate is dropping to 2.15% from 2.25% tomorrow.

Edit: Jumping on Discover Bank's $150/$200 promo since it's stupid easy (link). I'll figure out where to park my money once this is done. I may just jump on the bank account bonus trend provided that they don't require DD.

Anyone here use the subscription-based Quicken app? I'm still on Quicken 2017, with transaction downloads ending early next year, so I have to switch. I'm curious to know how the new app performs.

I immediately pulled my cash out and opened a Citi account for the bonus money. I still have a no penalty 2.25% CD with Marcus, but once that matures, I'm out.Marcus now down to 1.9%. How low will they go?
