Vanguard updated their site to give you better information on the landing page. It's actually a really solid change to their platform.

Andrews FCU has a new 7.5 month CD @ 5.75% APY. They actually e-mailed me a week or so ago seeing if I was interested in closing one of my CD's with no penalty, and rolling them into new CDs. I have an old 7-year 3.5% CD open with them that matures in November, and I think I'm going to take advantage of that offer.

They told me that particular CD was 'new money only'.

All you Marcus guys...

Is there a catch? Like are there transaction minimums, deposit requirements, balance minimums, etc? Or can I literally open an account and move my emergency fund from a .01% savings to a 4% one?
Penfed is offering 4% on their savings accounts now. No ATM or checks.

PenFed is a huge pain in the ass for a number of reasons, some of which I know I’ve mentioned here. Marcus has consistently raised their rates, and I’d go with them over PenFed.

I really like this. I'm still annoyed I can only do a 10 year history max and not from the beginning of time. Unless I'm missing something...

Nope, I see the same, limited to 10 years. I do agree, it'd be nice to go back further.

My other CD with Andrews matured today so I figured I'd throw it into that 7.5 month special. Nope, they ended it early. Guess I'll transfer all of it back to Marcus then.

It boggles my mind that my 17 year old still can't have his own checking account/debit card. He has a credit card thing through Chase, but it's tied to our accounts and isn't a full checking account. We have to transfer money all the time. It makes his job salary and tips interesting. Deposit to our account, transfer to his savings account, and then transfer it back to his Chase credit card.

Thanks, this might be good for my just out of college son with a mound of student loan debt and no other credit history.

Allright, @NTP66, we're in the market for a cash back credit card to use for gas stations and probably groceries. Is there a specific site that you use to research these cards? I found the Capital One Discover it Chrome card with does 2% back on gas, with no annual fee, but I got that from Credit Karma (which is owned by Intuit/Turbotax) which has biased recommendation. I know some cards rotate higher cash back awards, but I don't want to keep switching cards every quarter to get a higher rate lol. I'm not a sadist. We won't carry a balance or transfer debt to it either (which seems to be a big issue for a lot of these cards).

DoC is where you'll want to start (and likely end): https://www.doctorofcredit.com/credit-c ... dit-cards/

They're my favorite resource for everything in this space, and more.

Any idea how the pending regulation of submersibles will affect the travel sector?

I have 6 cards, though some are single threaded (Costco Visa, Amazon Prime). IMO, the Chase Freedom Unlimited (1.5x) and Citi Doublecash (2%, 1% for purchase, another 1% for paying) are probably where you're going to end up. Both are zero AF cards.

And if you want to compare cards, this is the site that I use: https://www.thepointcalculator.com/us/t ... rison-tool
