Calvin Hall is a plant/grow situation. Getting yourself killed at a street party at 2am while being an off duty police officer does not make you a fallen hero.

The latest is he was trying to break up a fight. Which makes him a Good Samaritan. It also speaks to the perceived invincibility of LEOs, because most normal people would recognize that jumping into the middle of a fight at 2am is a really bad idea with possible tragic outcomes. You may be a fallen hero, but no more so than a handful of other Good Samaritans that are injured or killed across the country probably every week.

It's probably the Shyster leaching into my brain but I'd bet my cars that this wasn't a Chris Chambers situation, and that he was a party to the fight from the get go. I have nothing to base that on except the few early reports from a few days ago which have been drowned out by his recent ascendancy to sainthood.

My issue isn't with Hall, per se. Just another jab at local news since it's the only thing they bothered to report on last night and my wife had the remote.

Edit: confirmed. I enjoyed Dogma, and that was the end of it. That was in 1999. Freaking Y2K bug got him.

Smith presented a screening I attended of the Jaws documentary "The Shark Is Still Working" at his Smodcastle facility in Hollywood. That was 2005-ish, so I have to give him that one.
