Miss MV is pretty cool. She has worked on centerpieces and decorations for the last year, buying things with Michaels coupons or off the internet and making them herself. She was totally fine with all the guys picking their own black tuxes, which I think makes more sense. I like traditional black tie looks - they never go out of style and won't look goofy like my senior prom pictures. All the girls picked their own dresses.

Secretly we're hoping the goofy location (DuBois) and that fact that no one lives there will knock a few dozen RSVPs off.
Where at in DuBois? My neck of the woods.
Stop hinting at an invite.

We strongly considered just eloping, but we're happy we did it the way we did. It was a tight budget, less than 100 people, only invited immediate family, aunts, uncles, and friends (no cousins), did as much DIY as possible without stressing ourselves out. It was a good time too. We still have people comment on how fun of a time they had at our wedding.

I've been to a few weddings there. It's a nice place. Not too convenient on the hotel front, though.

Fairfield Inn isn't too far up the road from Treasure Lake entrance.

My sister had her reception at the lodge 2 years ago. Good spot.

I do remember getting EnP at like 2 in the morning after the reception though. We rode in either @shafnutz or @malkintent Jeep to get to the hotel. I can't remember.
It was canaan's Jeep. Don't even remember who was driving. Mrs. Kicksave maybe? We were chugging champagne out of the bottle in the back of the car. That was a wild/rough night.

A couple of years ago a friend of mine got married, actually to a girl I introduced him to. I didn't talk to him much in the 14 months before the wedding because he had moved from Pittsburgh to Indianapolis to live with her.

So when he invited only me to the wedding I didn't know if that was because he didn't know I'd be dating someone for over a year at the point or if he simply didn't have room.

Following NANs suggestion I sent him a note asking and telling him I was fine with either. He said the numbers were tight and he couldn't do it.

Fast forward 4 years and his marriage is already over. He has been availing himself to all the Tinder has to offer. So when it comes time to send invites I send one to just him, because a) he isn't in a real relationship, and b) payback.

So I get a call from fiance 10 minutes ago where she isn't sure if she should laugh or yell - he RSVPs to his invite along with a girl's name. I will definitely be badgering him about that next weekend when he comes in to visit.

The wedding that I was at on Sunday had a security guard at the door, and he had a photo of someone in his hand as people were walking in, he was looking back and forth at the pic and people going in. I asked my wife who was a bridesmaid and she said it was the groom's brother who was specifically not invited. Fun, fun.

If you're talking about Miami Vice's friend, no clue. The wedding I was at, apparently there was a history that was bad enough to warrant it.

This might be common knowledge, but I was surprised to learn a few years ago that the pirate that gets thrown in the boo box was played by Glenn Close.

Miss MV wants to change her name after the wedding, preferably soon after.

Problem is we want to book some travel about 2 months later, and I'd like to buy the plane tickets soon.

So I'm worried about TSA and the airlines. Allegiant (gulp) is the only airline that flies direct to New Orleans and they are half the cost of other airlines. I just worry that given their lousy customer service record that the name change will be even more of a nightmare.

Book them in her new name, or hyphenated to cover all bases.

Right. But for the intent of manifesting for air travel 'Ms. Maiden-Vice' will cover all documents for this one trip. Domestic manifesting isn't as stringent so I would just do that if I were very concerned.

Oh I get it. My concern is that someone sees it and likes it and it sticks...that would be tragic...
