When the NBA is good, it's really good. Totally agree. It's been broken for a long time from a parity perspective though. I don't blame GSW one bit... This was a brilliant coup.

To be fair to the GSW, they built the core (Steph, Klay, and Draymond) through the draft. Sure, bringing in KD on top of that was icing on the cake, but they built this dynasty in pretty much the perfect way.

Imagine how Rockets fans feel? They mortgaged some of the future and gambled on winning a title in the next two years. They won 65 games last season, but it still wasn't enough to be better than the Warriors. Now, their title window is completely closed. Just crazy.

I know I'm probably going to bring the NBA defenders out of the woodwork, but the parity in that league just fcking sucks. Two teams nearly guaranteed to make the finals, a third has an outside possibility, and maybe four or five others are pretenders. When you have fans of the Rockets, one of the best teams in the league, thinking there's no point in even watching the games this year, that's a big problem.

48 hours ago, everyone was talking about how the Lakers might be back. Now, they are a total afterthought again, even if they do sign Kawhi.

Spurs have to take best possible deal. Regardless of where he goes, they need to rebuild. Also, every team knows that Kawhi wants to sign with the Lakers, so the Spurs don’t have a lot of leverage.

My Czech hometown's (population 18,000) team somehow managed to finish 4th in the Czech Basketball League - which earned them a spot in the qualification round of Europe Cup against a good team from freakin' Istanbul.
The Czech team's budget: slightly over $500,000 (though they had the son of Flyers star Tim Kerr on the roster last year). The Turkish budget - easily 10 times over...

So, how did "Hickory" fare today? 74-99.
