This isn’t directed at you, Troy. But wow, (the proverbial) we can’t even enjoy an NBA championship without the stink of partisan, harebrained, social media influenced politics invading it.

I’m a big fan of Rudy’s space bar use. Also, Communist China is my favorite city in Beijing.

One could say his space bar usage is liberal.

Jordan won 6 championships. This has always been the default people go to when talking about GOAT. Jordan has championships, Lebron doesn't. Lebron now has 4... if he ties Jordan, does the discussion start to change?

Jordan would've 8 if he didn't get silly ideas. Had not gotten. Whatever.

I actually think the discussion should change based on how many times he's gone to the finals, with different teams, different players, different scenarios.

Like the discussion of how the Lakers stunk until Lebron convinced Anthony Davis to pout and demand a trade to only the lakers?

Lebron is probably more physical gifted, but lacked Jordan's superhuman drive to win.

LeBron might have had 8 if he had Rodman and Pippen. It is what it is, they're the 2 best ever. Comparing by # of championships is silly and lazy

I think that's accurate. I think there were only two players that had what the killer drive. Kobe/Jordan, and that's about it.

I mean LeBron spent what, 8 years of his career with absolute dog sht in Cleveland? He dragged Sasha Pavlovic and Boobie Gibson to the final and then gets the finals loss held against him. Against Tim Duncan, Manu, Tony Parker.. Dumb

imo, the necessity of the star players being grouped together is essential in this NBA generation. Can't really fault a guy for recognizing that.

How they went about it, is less than desired.

I hope that doesn't some off as a knock on Lebron, just that Jordan was like a psycho.

How many championships would Jordan have if he negotiated trades for guys like Anthony Davis when times are tough

Nah, Jordan would've just went to the Pistons after they kicked his ass. That's how current NBA works.

did times ever get tough with the rosters he had?

The argument about roster builds seems weird.

He had literally one of the greatest rosters assembled for the majority of his playing time. Then left when they decided to break that roster up.

My gut feeling top 10 would be:

1. Jordan
2. Lebron
3. Bird
4. Russell
5. Magic
6. Wilt
7. Kareem
8. Hakeem
9. Oscar Robertson
10. Shaq

I have Kobe in 11-20

Also everyone but Lebron and Jordan are +/- 2 positions. They're all really close. I do think Lebron and Jordan are declaritively 1 and 2 though

I'd probably stick with it. Lebron vs. Jordan is tough but my gut still says Jordan. At this point it's just a counting exercise. If Lebron gets to 6 I would consider him greater but until then 6 > 4
