Those are rhetorical questions, right?
lol no. I'll admit I'm not too familiar with the legal ramifications of congressional hearings

I wonder how many people have actually felt like

a) they’re being discriminated against because they’re whites.

b) they feel like they need to beg for the forgiveness of non-whites.
I think the vast majority of people are normal, in that they don't really hold strong views on race one way or the other. There are white people they like, and white people they don't like. They probably have some black friends (forgive the cliche), and there are some black people they don't like. And so forth.
I agree with this.
That said, I don't think "white people are so fragile" is a valid response every time something like this comes up. Go back a few pages and look at that ridiculous document that was sent to all parents at East Side Community School in Manhattan about the "eight categories of whiteness". Now bear in mind, this is a school where Caucasian kids make up 18% of the population, yet are being singled out for their "privilege" by the school administration.
I think this lost some context, but agree it's not something that a principal should be sending out. It won't do any good, in all liklihood.
The vast majority of people do not want racism, and want people to just live happily together. The problem is, there is a *very* vocal, extreme minority that is wielding a ton of influence in the social justice/racial justice movement. Many of these Black activists that come up with this stuff are themselves opposed to interracial marriage, etc. and hold other views that could be construed as leering towards Black supremacy.

IMO, the pendulum is swinging way too far. It started with acknowledging your white privilege, but there is more and more rhetoric that just the act of being born white is a sin in itself. Taking this tack will not end well.
This is where you lose me a bit, and kind of what I was getting to with the questions I posed. I think it's a miniscule minority that are wielding a small amount of influence. That "influence" gets publicity because of it's extremes. And I agree, those extremist views are bad. However, "traditional" racism is a much more common and prevalent issue. It has been for years and years, and while things have improved, it's still a much bigger issue than this white privilege stuff. So I don't really see it as a pendulum swinging back and forth, because that would mean that the pendulum has swung dramatically away from people hating people of color. There's still a lot more that needs to change in that arena.

I wish people could still challenge each other to duels. Stuff like this needs to end immediately.

This clown has really gone off the deep end.
I so badly hope that he goes through with running again in ’22.

Wisconsin doesn’t make much sense as a blue or even purple state. Very worried about it turning to the dark side. Guys like Walker and Johnson have done the world a solid and radicalized the cheese heads to Biden’s socialist hellscape. But I don’t think it lasts without ongoing help like Ron Jon is providing today.

You can in Texas. As long as both verbally agree, and fists only.

I’m not familiar with her ideology (if it exists) and her pre-senate career is probably kind of a bummer, but as far as stepping in front of the mic, holding attention, speaking with lucidity and stating effective messages - Klobuchar is the A#1 asset in the Democratic Party. I very much wish Harris wasn’t on the table in ‘24.

Dude, Harris will be president long before 2024. Just ask NAN or Shaf.

Today, in "elections have consequences in SC" our esteemed legislature is debating House bill 3477, titled the "Save Women's Sports Act."

The bill's sponsors felt that women's sports are not on a level playing field, with the potential to be overrun with transgender males.

In a state with crushing poverty, income inequality, collapsing infrastructure, educators without pay increases for two years plus many more leaving the profession, and this (and last week's abortion bill) is the hill they die on.

Creating a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. It's absurd.

Like the abortion bill, it will get blocked in federal court. Just showboating to build their conservative bonafides, I guess.

The accident happened 5 hours ago, but as recently as just a couple minutes ago there were still 5 news helicopters on scene.

Re Harris

She is a ginormous bag of campaign contributions. She raised over $1.5 million for herself the 24 hrs after she announced, other candidates got more click-through on their own emails if her name was in the re line, and Biden raised over $360 million the month he announced her as his VP choice.

Like her or not, she isn't going anywhere.

She was the first big name to drop from the primary though. What happened there?

I said she was a cash machine, not an adroit campaigner.

The bussing confrontation at the first debate was simultaneously the high point of her candidacy and its nadir. In the days following that exchange she surged to close to 20%, solidly in 3rd place. Within a month she sank down to sub-10% levels, and month out from Iowa she was entrenched in 6th place in polling. As I saw in one editorial, that's not enough to justify leaving the lights on.

Others (obviously) came to different conclusions about how best to proceed with their own campaigns. And I don't know that we'll ever know the full extent of the backroom stuff, but one can also surmise that there may have been some handshaking nods and winks behind the scenes that lead to the Senator becoming the Vice-president.

Top 5 powerful Democrat in America. One of the most powerful politicians on the planet, in fact.

Can’t even email from his **** phone and has to hit like 10 buttons to text “hi” to someone.

I hope this picture isn’t real.
