Just saying, the question was raised about how heavy that much ammunition would be and how much physical space it would occupy; essentially, how portable 2,500 rounds would be, and the answer is 'very'.

To add, here's a chart with round weights:
Image
Just for the sake of spitballing and discussing, let's say he brought 75 30-round magazines of 5.56 (2,250 rounds), and let's say 20 mags of 9mm (300 rounds..... I know that's a bit over 2,500 rounds, just play along). Based on that chart, the 5.56 cache would weigh right around 60 lbs, and the 9mm cache would weigh just over 8 lbs. So that split is under 70 lbs total.

Then again, that doesn't take into account the added weight of the actual magazines.
Thanks. I was actually just pondering going down to my basement and weighing a box of ammo.

The only way weight would matter is if these idiots were literally throwing bullets at people by hand.
It speaks to mobility and effectiveness of movement.

Also, that was a really long way to go for tif to paraphrase what I already answered a few posts above his.

I'm guessing Space Force HQ was originally in CO because of NORAD/Cheyenne Mountain?

Really would have liked to see more Republicans cross the aisle, but I'll take what we got.

Thanks to all!
I am actually quite gun/ammo illiterate (even though my college roommate - and the best man at my wedding - is the CEO of one of the world's top ammunition producers)

In "stuff that will likely fly under the radar because there's bigger issues right now":

Was there literally any Alabama folks wavering?

I highly doubt that was part of it and more to do with Huntsville's hugely important role in the space program.

And space command is different from space force.

Plus if you read the story it says a final decision isn't going to be made until 2023.

I am no historian (and too lazy to check), but I just read that 10 is the maximum to ever vote against the own party guy...

What on God's green earth could Joe Biden have abused, before he's even taken office?

I hope they throw her out.

Pelosi announces lawmakers will be fined $5K if they bypass metal detectors to House floor
Pelosi said that the House will adopt new rules when it returns to session on Jan. 21 to mandate stiff fines for bypassing security: $5,000 for the first offense and $10,000 for the second. The fines will be deducted from lawmakers' salaries.

“It is tragic that this step is necessary, but the chamber of the People’s House must and will be safe," Pelosi said in a statement.
