Because it’s a dubious claim. As much as some people hate Trump, this is a PR battle and I doubt this will help getting people to rally behind their cause. In fact, I think including Obstruction of Congress could hurt them.

That's sad....places like Poland and the Czech Republic have had virtually no terror attacks going back a lot of years, probably in large part to how strict their immigration measures are vs. places like France. Can't imagine the motive for something as senseless as this, but you just don't hear about this kind of stuff in those countries very often. I kind of doubt it's garden-variety terrorism but who knows.

There's a rally in Hershey? I'm not as connected as you think ;)

That said, I did receive a census/poll via mail from the Republican Party last night, trying to get census/opinion data on a portion of their registered voters. I like how they ask for money at the end of it...some things never change :P

It was all vindication on Hannity last night. All those things that they say happened are in the IG report.

If she’s a bankruptcy expert, of course she’s going to make Money advising companies.
Another thing she has in common with Trump. :pop:
In this example, she would be advising the bank what they can and cannot do when seeking repayment on trumps defaulted loans.

Didn't expect that level of celebration. They're shameless.

I realize it's not a big deal because it doesn't involve Trump directly.

But it's such a huge thing that hundreds of thousands of people are dead, Billions are wasted, and three straight administrations are going to get away with scot-free along with the politicians and "analysts" who lied their way into and through it and are still getting gigs on TV and print like nothing happened.

There's a difference between it not being a big deal, and it not being revelatory, is there one person in the world who thinks this Afghan war is going well or that the US is being honest about it. Trump's willingness to seek a peace deal with the Taliban is good.

It's not a big deal because all the people who voted for it and kept voting for it are still in power.

I think it's a similar dynamic that the GOP has when trying to reform medicare and social security. If the GOP gets near those entitlements they will get bombarded with attacks. If the Dems get conciliatory with key adversaries, they get bombarded with attacks for being weak and capitulating.

It would be good for the parties to recognize this dynamic and just take the appropriate steps (Dems make steps for entitlement reform, and a GOP administration unwinding US military engagements).

Last year I read three revelatory books on the Afghanistan (and Iraq) conflicts: The Outpost, Red Platoon, and The Fighters. The last book, by CJ Chivers really drove home the point that what we were doing in Afghanistan was half-assed and shameful. I've read plenty on Vietnam, and the parallels are there. Taking a hill/outpost for the sake of taking it, and then leaving the next day. Never having enough or the correct equipment to fight an insurgent war.

The Outpost/Red Platoon was about an outpost set in the bottom of a valley surrounded by hostile Taliban fighters. Unbelievably stupid as to why we'd ever site a base in the middle of a fishbowl, surrounded by the enemy. Just stupid.

WaPo has a vicious firewall (lol) so I haven't been able to read it yet, just synopses from sites I do have access. But it's disgusting the wanton destruction of American soldiers, marines, and money as well. And then there's the Afghani civilian deaths...

Did someone post here yesterday about how the Afghani farmers figured out how to get paid: create a fake Taliban camp on their land, tell the US about it (get a reward), and then the "camp" would get bombed. The farmers would sell the bomb fragments to scrap metal dealers for cash. It's a scam on top of a scam.

The DNC seems like a trash organization doing everything it can to make the choice as opposed to it's constituents.
