What’s the purpose of all the “Jeffrey Epstein didn’t hang himself” stuff on social media?
Because people think it is fun, and cheeky.

Oddly enough, my daughter’s school had a pep rally spotlighted by a local station this morning. One of the kids they interviewed said, “Epstein didn’t kill himself.” So, teenage humor i guess?
:slug:
Things are allowed to be funny, right?

Or is this one of those super serious things?

The Jeffrey Epstein murder conspiracy is really brewing.

A California beer maker is selling a special, limited batch with “EPSTEIN DIDN’T KILL HIMSELF” printed on the bottom of its cans.

Tactical Ops Brewing started printing the special message Wednesday on the blue cans for the Freso-based firm’s Basher Oatmeal Stout.
Oh those crazy kids!

I just don’t think it’s funny. Not in a “how dare someone joke about this” way. Just in a “that’s dumb that people keep posting the same thing over and over again way.” Didn’t really think that was a hot take.

Do you have any doubts that Epstein killed himself

It's not about hot takes, it's about the goldfish brained public, and the people who frequently get away with crimes because of it.

In the book, Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us, Trump Jr. wrote about how his father laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier the day before his inauguration in January, 2017. “I rarely get emotional, if ever,” Trump Jr. wrote in the book.
“Yet, as we drove past the rows of white grave markers, in the gravity of the moment, I had a deep sense of the importance of the presidency and a love of our country.” He also lamented the “big sacrifice” that was “costing us millions and millions of dollars annually, a huge book of business that I had personally built.”

And as he watched his father in front of the tomb where unidentified soldiers are buried in crypts, Trump Jr. started thinking about how much his family had suffered and realized it was just beginning. “In that moment, I also thought of all the attacks we’d already suffered as a family, and about all the sacrifices we’d have to make to help my father succeed — voluntarily giving up a huge chunk of our business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were ‘profiting off the office,’” Trump Jr. wrote. Even though it was “a sacrifice we were more than happy and willing to make,” Trump Jr. lamented that “we didn’t get any credit whatsoever from the mainstream media, which now does not surprise me at all.”

Re those Triggered reviews

Top promoted review title: THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN (emphasis theirs), and their entire review is in all-caps. There is another 5-star review from someone who claims they are three chapters in. There are two entire pages of 5-star reviews posted on the release date of the book, including one from a person calling themselves 'happy customer' whose other reviews include two separate 5-star 'verified purchase' reviews of MAGA hat purchases from two different sellers (complete with different verbiage in each, so it wasn't a copy-paste thing) both on the same day Triggered was released.

Then there is another review, a 1-star that's entitled "Honestly, the best book Trump Jr's ever written."

Edit: TL beat me to the punch re DisneyDenizen's contribution lol

More believable than bringing back steel and coal jobs...
Steel jobs have actually stopped declining and have actually increased. So this is half true as political fact checkers would say.
U.S. Steel confirmed Friday that it had initiated a round of layoffs tied to a restructuring that the Pittsburgh-based steelmaker announced early last month.

The company declined to disclose the number of people let go. It said the layoffs — all nonunion positions — affected operations nationwide, including in Pittsburgh.

“We need to truly become a leaner, more efficient organization faster,” U.S. Steel said in an emailed statement.
