Not at all. It's just interesting observing where and how the lines get drawn for abuse of power.
At a minimum, I would only start to get concerned when the abuse of power in question actually has any impact on any persons or their rights, and the Trump phone call (even if true) doesn't rise to that level in my view.
I think the “any persons” condition has been met.

Lots of Russian money was laundered through your beloved NRA comrade.
And where is the proof of that?

Moreover, I don't believe in campaign limits anyway. I wouldn't give two craps if Putin himself personally ran ads on national US TV advocating for or against any candidate.
Why even bother with pesky elections, we should just let the rich people pick.

It's funny to see people who normally jump at the chance to shake their fist at the world and cry 'tyranny' in a Second Amendment context being otherwise completely okay Cheeto McBribe doing his thing.
Was Trump trying to bribe the Ukrainians to come to the US and seize everyone's guns?
Not at all. It's just interesting observing where and how the lines get drawn for abuse of power.

How are these two even remotely comparable?

One is arguing against a government seizing/banning private property and the other is a dumbass that doesn’t understand if you want political dirt on someone, that you need to let your party’s national committee hire an intermediary to do it.

Voting republican or Democrat is basically doing that for them....

Do you run out and buy every product you see in an advertisement? Of course not. Campaigns would be no different.

I think the “any persons” condition has been met.

Politicians aren't persons. They're more of a subhuman race of garbage people.

If the only person affected is Joe Biden, then I can say with 100% certainty that I'm not going to care.

Not really a product though, and with individualized messaging, we are more vulnerable to manipulation.

I was thinking more the former ambassador to Ukraine who was smeared and removed from her post in this scheme. Or are state department officials also subhuman garbage people that deserve to be publicly attacked?

A Pennsylvania state representative has been charged with stealing over $500,000 from a nonprofit she founded to pay for her vacations, online shopping sprees, and a Porsche, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell, a Democrat representing a West Philadelphia district, was charged with several counts—including theft, perjury, and tampering with public records—for allegedly stealing thousands from Motivations Education and Consultation (MECA) by diverting money meant for Medicare and Social Security disability funds, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office said.

She wasn't directly affected by that phone call. It wasn't about her.

I can’t believe this was uttered by such an intelligent person.

It’s laughable

I’m sure that when the next Democratic President is elected that the same people with this attitude will have the same exact attitude toward said president....

Right, I mean if you look at the phone call independent of everything else. But I can't understand the purpose of examining this debacle from that perspective.

The guy is testifying in an impeachment hearing in a public setting with zero chances of any kind of reprisal.

Some dictatorship.
