At this time, the trump team is still of the opinion that they can’t prove trump knew about the meeting with the Russians. I mean, great, there isn’t a paper trail that confirms he knew about a meeting that included basically the entire head of his campaign. All they will have is trump jr denying he told trump about it on the two calls with his dad sandwiching the meeting, that will hold up.

Also, they are backing off the roger stone stuff, more or less saying that because trump didn’t coordinate the hacking, he’s innocent

Cory Booker says he ain't gay:

“I’m heterosexual,” Booker told the newspaper. ”Every candidate should run on their authentic self, tell their truth, and more importantly, or mostly importantly, talk about their vision for the country."

Past political opponents of Booker have attempted to question his sexuality, according to the Inquirer. Booker is considering a bid for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020.

It's a weird dynamic.

In South Carolina, suggesting a white candidate fathered a little black baby - out of wedlock! - can kill a presidential campaign. Hinting that a male candidate might fancy other male candidates can negatively follow a person through twenty years of public life.

In the African American community, homosexuality can defeat all other considerations as an effective negative campaign threat axis; Prop 8 would not have passed in 2008 were it not for capitalizing on African Americans turning up in huge numbers to cast a vote for the first African American presidential candidate.

I'll never vote for a candidate called Theresa, because I have my reasons.

As a people, we sort ourselves in rather odd ways at times.

Bingo, which is why it is so acutely relevant with Booker's legitimacy. There are very strong undercurrents of homophobia in the black community. Some of it is religious, but a lot of it is just general disapproval. Booker's legitimacy as a national contender strongly relies on getting out the black vote, and if he were to come out, that would kill it.
