Yeah, I said the same thing when I read that...not either should be "on the table" in terms of needing protection at this point...but I was surprised to see that lumped in with same sex...

Reading that back in 1973 Republicans were more pro-abortion than Democrats. Huh.

At some point the tides turned. The Deep South used to be purely democrat during the Lincoln administration

Go read the platforms under Dwight Eisenhower. You’d think he was a pinko.

I mean I guess but if the federal government got rid of interracial marriage protections then you could kiss the Republican Party goodbye. It would be political suicide

Between the mid 1950s and mid 1960s party affiliation flipped wholesale in the southern states to more or less what it looks like today. There is a very clear cause-effect connection to be drawn by this shift and certain events of the day, but folks such as FR like to pooh-pooh such talk while also using phrases like "war of northern aggression".

Speaking of distant bridges..............

Jewish leaders have recently denounced DJT after his dinner with multiple anti-Semites. Apparently naked bigotry is only a deal breaker once it's directed at you. 'First They Came', and all.

But it would be the Supreme Court which would allow all the Rs in congress to pass the buck and yammer about state's rights.

Tucker going after Apple tonight for being collaborators with the Chinese.

I haven't heard him talk about Musk but this is obviously in response the Musk and Apple row.

DeSantis also said Congress should act if Apple bans Twitter. You know, small government and all.

Probably because Xi Jinping belittled him a few weeks ago at a summit.

DeSantis has a fast food induced heart failure build to him and I hope it comes to fruition sooner rather than later.

Reversing Roe on Netflix is a good documentary and includes discussion on the Republican stance. Essentially they felt like they were losing ground with the general public, so they decided to court favor from the religious nutjobs that felt like outsiders.

lol I was doing an interview for a position on my team and the candidate lives outside of Chicago. We were talking about the weather there and she randomly goes into a segway about how good of a job DeSantis has done with COVID and then goes into how the weather isn’t the most of her issues in Illinois, but the violence

I was trying to hold my laughter that not only is she getting into political topics on an interview but how they all seemed to be Fox News talking points

Better hire her or you’ll be attacked for discriminating against conservatives
