huh. Neil Young told Spotify “stop hosting Joe Rohan’s podcasts or pull my music”

apparently Spotify just pulled Neil Young’s music (obviously siding with Rogan because of mikeys sweet, sweet listening dollars)

if Facebook and other social media sites are legally required to manage the content on them to stop the spread of misinformation, Spotify should be held to the same expectation

My guess is Joe Rogan brings in way more subs than Neil Young. Still **** Joe Rogan.

oh of course. Rogan is the straw that stirs the drink. My point is that they should be held accountable for hosting his lies

Agreed. They won’t until it starts to hurt them where it counts though. Unless more musicians follow Young’s lead and their subscriber count dips because they’re losing artists, I don’t see anything changing.

Neil Young should **** off. Misinformation did not start in 2020. Glad they called his bluff

Rogan gets twice as many listers per episode as Neil Young gets in a month.

And this was to my understanding specifically tied to vaccine stuff and COVID. So it kinda did start in 2020.

Neil Young has been dodinting about the sound quality of Spotify for years, and wanted his music off there (naturally, he has his own streaming archive). It left for a brief time years ago, but his label put it back on there for visibility purposes.

He doesn't need Spotify and vice versa. Everybody's happy.

Why should he **** off? Just because misinformation isn't new doesn't mean someone shouldn't do what they think is right to fight it.

Neil Young would be near the top of my list of "artists a whole lot of people like but you absolutely do not." Not at the very top (that would be the Beatles), but near the top. Just never cared for any of his music at all.

Meh...he's fine, but nothing amazing.

I did go back and listen to that "controversial" Rogan...and they started out talking about it, and going back and forth a little bit, and Rogan goes, "If this was delta, this is would be very scary." and I'm thinking, "ok, here we go...this was another snippet intended to frame someone..." but after that, it does go off the rails and Rogan had a rather negative take on vaccines and really digging for points against the vaccine...they move on after a half hour or so, but yeah, it was a tough look for the majority of the covid/vaccine talk...

he's definitely not a no talent ass-hat but like bob dylan, his singing is on par with college professors assessment of trump's handling of the economy

Didn't Neil Young have polio as a child and still has a limp?

Correct. Not sure about the limp, but definitely had polio.

Correct. Not sure about the limp, but definitely had polio.
That would explain his take on vaccines.
