I do enjoy the media keeps referring to her as Stormy Daniels as if she doesn't have a real name.

Well that is the name you want if you're doing research.

I want zero part of that research.

When towns lose their newspapers, disease detectives are left flying blind

I would actually subscribe to the local paper, but it’s badically wire service articles and reviews of rich people charity events.

I said this yesterday, that I don't see how FB isn't covered by the FCRA. Their business is clearly furnishing customer data.
Not sure how the Department of the Treasury should have jurisdiction over a social media site. I agree that there needs to be comprehensive overhaul of how PII is protected in the age of social media, but this is without doubt the wrong vehicle for that.

I believe the CFPB is the primary agency for FCRA.

Edit, looks like Dodd-Frank did give that authority to the CFPB.

I think FB both generates customer data, and furnishes that data. So, to me they should be regulated like a credit bureau.

She’s taking a lie detector test.

You'd think she'd get those things reduced, since she is no longer "acting". The back pain is probably murder.

Update to the Maryland High School shooting.
http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2018/03/ ... -shooting/

A sheriff’s spokeswoman says three people were injured in the shooting, including the shooter. All three are believed to be students at the school.

A male student allegedly shot one female student and another male student in a hallway inside the school.

According to WUSA’s Peggy Fox, the suspect shot a young woman, who was critically injured. Then, the shooter was engaged by a school resource officer and shots were exchanged.

I used to live 5 minutes from this school. Never seemed like a bad area, more like suburbia.

the sad part is that a horrific shooting with record casualties would probably save lives in the long run right now. A few injuries ain’t moving the needle. And the more time that passes since the last means less momentum for reform.

Oh well.

Also considering the shooter used a handgun.

Update: shooter is now dead, 10:41 t.o.d.

Two victims, one in critical, one in stable.

Well, obviously since a semi-automatic handgun fires at .000001 seconds slower than an AR the SRO was able to fire back.

This seems more like a targeted attack, as opposed to opening fire in public spaces.

I think the former moves the needle and should do so, but of course the latter is the more frequent occurrence.

the former is probably much more frequent. but at the one-on-one level. so it wouldn't typically be counted as a "mass shooting".

I misspoke, the targeted attacks don't move the needle, and the indiscriminate mass shootings do, and I think that they should.

I think I speak for most people, in that I am not going to be target of premeditated murder. Any incident that works to transform public spaces into target practice is of more concern to the average civilian.
