Nowhere do I allude to anyone hating children. When you don’t have them, you feel a certain way, which is different from how you feel when you have them.
If having children means abandoning reason, I'm even more happy to not have them.

I wonder how many of the Chicken Littles responding to that tweet with "I'M LITERALLY CRYING RN" text or check their stupid fcking Twitter feeds while they are driving? Or are distracted by other things when driving? I'm going to guess it is a significant percentage.

And since over 4,000 children die in car crashes every year, many of which die in distracted driver crashes, I think it is a fairly sound argument that a gun control fanatic that drives distracted and checks their phone while driving is a far bigger existential threat to our nation's children then the millions upon millions of gun owners out there. Significantly so.

Which again, makes it so absurd that we are fixating on such a tiny percentage of juvenile deaths. Cell phones are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more deadly to children than guns. The statistics prove it. So if you have ever, ever used your phone while driving, the odds are assuredly higher that you could have potentially killed a child than Joe Schmo with the gun safe in his house.

I'm not in favor, generally, of greater gun control outside of a very few things. But comparing deliberate acts of violence to what amounts to literal passive negligence is quite the reach.

Wtf?

We are starting this program next week at school. The program we’re supposed to implement through sandy hook promise is called “Say Hello.” My principal now starts every email with Hello.

Kids killed in traffic accidents involving alcohol impaired drivers feel active enough for you?

"Hey FR? Why do you homeschool?"

I mean outside of the fact that so many high schoolers I run into have vocabularies in the dozens.
Yes, I know I'm a whack job whose kids have no socialization.

'Passive' is not doing as much work in that post as you seem to think.

I love how you give this response whenever something negative comes up about schools. It’s just as passive aggressive as how you take shmenguin’s post.

Maybe you should widen your net. Yes, I know you do work some with kids. However, if your impression is that kids who aren’t home schooled get an inferior education and are just dumb, maybe your sample size is too small.

There are certainly things wrong with schools. I will happily criticize my own school. And I’ll happily send my kids there knowing they’re getting a great education. All the while, I know some kids are better off being home schooled.

Totally. Had you instead just said “literal negligence” you would have been making the same point.

My comment was mostly in jest.

Hence the joking Spoiler part.

I know, with our attention spans we can only address one thing that kills kids at once.

Really? You’ve made the same general post several times. I apologize if I’m taking it the wrong way.

Wait, aren’t you the one who had to go sleep next his daughter because a crack fiend killed her child by using heroin to cure teething pain, in a situation that your own daughter would never be in danger of? 8-)
As parents I think we all overreact to the thought of harm being done to our children, or maybe more accurately things that make us appreciate how precious they are. Some have different triggers than others , and I think that we all need to be more respectful of that.

That said, ruling from pure emotion (be it fear, anger, hate, and even love) is horrible idea.

This whistleblower guy has apparently retained an attorney called Andrew Bakaj, who is an ex-IC/CIA guy with quite the résumé. He is something of a subject matter expert on whistleblowers, specifically those in the IC, and actually wrote the CIA policy for how to deal with whistleblowers and retaliatory discipline. Which is something, because he was ousted from The Agency in 2014 after he himself became a whistleblower (exposing evidence tampering) only to find himself placed on leave and his security clearance revoked. When he was escorted out of the Langley HQ, they police taped his office door and put combination locks on it.

Not sure who has authority to pull clearances, or whether or not then-Director Brennan had any real-time visibility into this. But the guy was vindicated in the subsequent IG investigation, and one of the people caught up in that was Christopher Sharpley, who until this report came out (just a few weeks ago) ws the nominee for CIA IG and serving in that role in an acting capacity.

Giuliani says 'of course' he asked Ukraine to look into Biden seconds after denying it
President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani gave conflicting answers in an interview on CNN on Thursday night as to whether he asked Ukraine to look into former Vice President Joe Biden, saying at one point "of course I did."

Taking "Don't freak out" advice from Shad is like taking "don't be a dodint" advice from dodint, or "don't be a douchebag" advice from godric...

Exactly. Some people freak out unnecessarily over gun violence, some of us over other things. At least it's not sports for me anymore.
