Cool idea. Who cares about guns and voting anyway.
Well from their POV they own the states currently in legislation, it’s going to be an interesting fight going forward.

Especially with states like Tenn no longer requiring background checks to carry.
Missouri has had that for like 6 years...and has 6 straight years of increasing gun violence.

My compromise has always been: I'll give you national carry reciprocity if you give you me your name and firearm serial numbers so the firearm can be tracked. I don't give a rats ass about you specifically, but if the prevailing notion is that the majority of gun violence is already by those who are obtaining guns by illegal means than we need a way to stop that. Being able to track a firearm from the manufacturer to somebody's collection feels like a step there. CarFax for guns.

Yeah. If a guy gets killed on the corner for slinging dope where he’s not supposed to, and they catch the guy who did it, it would be helpful to know who’s funneling guns to his boss.

You already need a background check to purchase a firearm you would use for carry.

What would be the need to have another for carrying?

It's also not universal.
Under the new law, adults 21 and older and military members between 18 and 20 will be allowed to open or concealed carry handguns without a permit. The law also increases certain penalties. For example, theft of a firearm — now a misdemeanor that carries a 30-day sentence — will become a felony with a mandatory six month incarceration. It also makes exceptions for people with certain mental illnesses and criminal convictions.

Manchin has the support of 30% of WV republicans. The odds are that many of them believe The Big Lie and supported the 1/6 insurrection.

He won by a narrow margin in 18. He’s probably losing in 24. He has to do a variety of stupid things to be electable in that state.

tl;dr - Inmate A is in jail for strangling his girlfriend. Inmate B is in jail for strangling a bunch of people in the 70s and 80s. Inmate A just strangled inmate B
Shame, that.

My one wish in life would be that the gun grabbers would take 5 seconds to learn anything about firearms. Just one thing.

Bump stocks were banned during the Trump era, even though they're back in the courts.

Aside from Shyster, there is a general consensus here that what kind of weapon you're permitted to purchase should have limitations, it's just where that line should be drawn, correct? Just trying to get a feel for the room.

Well we still haven’t figured out if Germany was the bad guy in WW1. These things are full of nuance.

there's a lot of nuance to Lee's life but it's impossible to have a discussion around it

he's a Shakespearean tragic hero. Ultimately hated by history
