Legit question, why the next two weeks? Is there a reason because of the peak or what?

When the hospitals run out of ventilators, that’s when the deaths will spike.

Dr. Fauci said that the two weeks thing, which Trump was just repeating what Dr. Fauci said, was based on their modeling of the peak.
Dr. Fauci also said that their modeling shows that with the new production of ventilators there should be plenty of ventilators to go around.
Dr. Birx also noted that there are particular states that are doing a very bad job of getting PPE, tests, and other supplies to where they need to be and that the Feds are going to start doing it for them.

Didn’t the guy blame hospitals for hoarding supplies? The federal government is "holding back" 10,000 ventilators because it anticipates the breathing machines will be needed for an expected "surge" in coronavirus cases across the country, Donald Trump said Tuesday evening.
"I want all Americans to be prepared for the hard days that lie ahead. We're going to go through a tough two weeks," a serious president said. "This is going to be a very painful two weeks."
His administration has said cases could soar between now and Easter Sunday (12 April), adding he has approved shipments of ventilators to Michigan, New York and Louisiana.

Pretty sure you can see the difference between a hospital hoarding and a government keeping things in reserve for an expected need later.Didn’t the guy blame hospitals for hoarding supplies? The federal government is "holding back" 10,000 ventilators because it anticipates the breathing machines will be needed for an expected "surge" in coronavirus cases across the country, Donald Trump said Tuesday evening.

I just personally enjoyed that comment. He called them out for hoarding, it was not true at least yet, but held back supplies.

just stinks because there are people who need those ventilators now, but I guess it’s a number game.

Florida could be bad, gonna be interesting how it shakes out down there.Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday said he had no plans to issue a statewide stay-at-home order, partly because he says he hasn’t been told to do so by the White House task force.
More than 30 states and the District of Columbia have already enacted such restrictions.
During a news conference in Tallahassee, DeSantis was asked about a Herald/Times story that reported an epidemiologist advising the White House had told Florida’s top health official to issue a statewide stay-at-home order on Monday.
Ali Mokdad, a professor at the University of Washington’s Institute for Health and Metrics Evaluation, told the Herald/Times that he told DeSantis’ surgeon general, Scott Rivkees, that the state should issue a blanket stay-at-home order mandating the closure of non-essential businesses and social distance to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
DeSantis expressed surprise about the story, which had been published Tuesday hours before his news conference.
“Who recommended that?” he asked the reporter.
After given more explanation, DeSantis said he has heard no such direction from anyone with the White House Task force team.
“I’m in contact with [the White House task force] and I’ve said, ‘Are you recommending this?’ ” DeSantis said. “The task force has not recommended that to me. If they do, obviously that would be something that carries a lot of weight with me. If any of those task force folks tell me that we should do X, Y or Z, of course we’re going to consider it. But nobody has said that to me thus far.”
That deference to the White House was later applauded by President Donald Trump, who lauded DeSantis, a close political ally.
When asked if Florida needed to issue a blanket order, Trump replied that DeSantis is a “great governor who knows exactly what he’s doing.”

I think Trump's ability to analyze and integrate data that comes out of his long history in business has really been a real benefit during the discussions about medical issues.
