Has anyone getting "VOTE FOR ME" texts? I'm getting spammed by Rothfus constantly.

I'm getting lots of "Hi I'm so and so, we need you to vote today". None from a candidate.

In theory it's an easy Yes. But even the people in charge don't have faith that the money will be used correctly.
They promised the spending would be transparent, but have no concrete plans on what the spending looks like. Maybe if it had a sunset provision I'd give them a little more consideration, but this is a state that still levies (hah, pun) the Johnston Flood relief tax.
Yeah... it literally gives no details. Hence the no vote from me.

That'd be a great way of getting me to vote for anyone else.

That was my thought as well. When I first saw that, I thought it was a typo and they meant 100 feet. But nope... 10 feet from the room where voting actually happens. Which super duper 'why bother' territory imo.

One thing I will say: It has been encouraging to see the huge level of engagement in this cycle. Whatever your reasons or motivations or affiliations, participation is key, and I mean that with complete sincerity.

Shaffer is the only candidate I'm voting against. Congrats to Lindsey Williams for not being Jeremy Shaffer.

His ad campaign made it pretty clear raising all those kids in the North Hills looks pretty hard; he should probably stay home to take care of that. I'd argue his policy positions but he didn't bother including any of those in his ads.

Indiana will report early-ish, too.

And California could take weeks or a month for results to be certified. For example, the last time Darell Issa won reelection, the results weren't certified until after Thanksgiving.

It will be neat to watch the CA results as they come in; four of the seven tossup races in the state are in GOP bastion Orange County, including Dana Rohrabacher's reelection and the seat vacated by the retiring Issa.
Hopefully the house is decided before this. So for me, hopefully the close VA, NJ and NY races go democrat, so the close CA races wont matter.

I thought the polls closed at 7:00pm in PA. I just did a double check to make sure my polling location hasn’t moved, and it says they’re open until 8:00pm.

Along those lines, my wife is a registered D and the candidates and their volunteers have been knocking on the door several times a week to talk to her. One of them came up the drive when I was getting out of my car one day and asked for her. I told him she wasn't home yet; he looked at his clipboard, saw I was registered as "other" and left.

Oddly I haven't received any phone calls, texts, or canvassers. I did get one mailer warning me of the Liberal mob with a photo of young people at what I think was Burning Man. So that was neat.

I am, but I still don't see why they should just give my number out willy nilly when they haven't done that in the past.

I got a text from a Democratic candidate as well about a month back. I have no idea how they vot my information.

That was probably because they are doing GOTV canvasing and not persuasion. Lots of people are willing to canvas to try and talk to other folks in the party to gauge their likelihood to vote, far fewer people are willing to argue with people in the other party.

The daily had a decent episode yesterday that was about some Evangelical women in TX that are voting D because they are opposed to things like child separation. And the last 5-10 minutes was a phone conversation between one young woman who was quoted in the article talking to her staunch conservative father. While these two clearly didn't hate each other, there is no breaking through when you are providing the reason for your vote. It was still uncomfortable to listen to.

He did mention that part of his mission was looking for additional volunteers to help with the campaigns. My wife keeps telling them over and over she's voting, and voting for them, so I wish they'd sod off.

When they call, I would express something like, I am 100% going to vote, I am 100% not interested in volunteering in any capacity. The people making calls and canvasing are looking for those pieces of information, if you are clear on those two components, they will have no reason to follow back up with you.

Rumor has it that Senator Joe Donnelly of Indiana is paying for Facebook ads for his so-called opponent on the libertarian ticket. Donnelly is trying to steal the election? Isn’t that what Russia did!?
