I'd argue unions don't belong in government, period. I work in the federal government and 'negotiated' my contract just fine. I applied for a job and accepted the terms. Done.
The federal union is worthless.

Its funny how posters here are kinda like carbon copies of political commentators.

Factorial is Chris Hayes
Freddy is Ben Shapiro
Willie Kool is Jimmy Dore
Troy Loney is Cenk Uygur
nobody is Tim Pool
Shaf is Alex Jones
Ned is Steve Bannon

I'm sure I can think of better ones as I spend more time reading

I obviously have no love lost for the Flyers or their stupid obsession with Kate Smith. But this is starting to honestly border on insanity at this point. They have already covered up her statue!!

https://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2019/ ... of-racism/

Some context, courtesy of r/hockey.
As someone pointed out in the original thread, the context changes a lot. The "Thats Why Darkies Are Born" song was a satirical song about racism recorded with an African American singer and political activist. The "Pickaninny Heaven" one was in a movie where shes singing for black orphans in New York. Is the tone of talking down to them and referencing watermelon ignorant and **** up? .
Once again, our current generation has shown their ability to fail to grasp historical context in any way. Paul Robeson, who recorded the former with Kate Smith, was a prominent political/civil rights activist.

I’m waiting for the first moron to call Blazing Saddles a racist movie.

If it counts I have, more than once, heard the expression "We couldn't make a Blazing Saddles today."

Freddy isn't Ben Shapiro. Freddy would be more like Jordan Peterson. There are probably a few libertarian commentators I would equate with Freddy before Shapiro... Shapiro is a run-of-the-mill conservative. He's bright, and he's quick, but Freddy's much more anti-establishment than Shapiro, in my reading.

nobody is definitely not Tim Pool. nobody is like somewhere between Hannity and Levin.

There isn't a Tim Pool in this thread - a practical leftist. The leftists in this thread are lately (for obvious reasons) highly animated by their hatred of Trump. I listen to Tim Pool almost daily. There's none of that in him.

I haven't listened to enough Jimmy Dore to say whether WK is a reasonable analog, but if he is it reduces my perception of Dore. And I'll say again, I like WK. I disagree with him vehemently, but I appreciate his honesty. He's desperately, embarrassingly wrong almost everything discussed ITT, but I like him, nonetheless.

Don't watch Chris Hayes, but if he has nothing to say of substance and is a snide leftist, then yeah, that's Factorial.

I think you nailed TL.

I get why you said Shad is AJ, but I don't think that's quite accurate. Not sure where I'd put Shad... maybe somewhere between Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly.

Ned is... almost not believable as anything other than a troll account.

We're all glad we'll likely never know :P ;)

I think that's a fair assessment of your place on the political spectrum, though. And it's not a bad one. Beck isn't bad, in my book.

Actually c2i might be the closest to a Tim Pool, as I re-consider it. I could be wrong about that... I don't read the thread enough anymore to say for certain, but my recollection is "reasonable; comes to the right conclusions occasionally, if for the wrong reasons... also, frequently wrong." ;)

Not old, but other than that... fair enough.

I mean, I'm not yelling at clouds... but there's no doubt that my answers are to questions that very, very few are asking... so, in a sense - yelling at clouds. Also I'm fine with that.

Yeah, you'd be more like... actually you are exactly who you are - an everyday right-of-center government bureaucrat. That's a species with very little representation in popular culture or media... and for good reason - there can't be more than 7 or 8 of you on the planet.

If there is a right-of-center PBS host, that would be my best guess for your media analog.
