Larry Elder launched this site on Monday
https://stopcafraud.com/
Perhaps you should look into the legitimacy of concerns that the GOP lies about election fraud.
It's worked out well for the GOP so far

Yes GOP voters, all elections are rigged now so you may as well not vote.
I would have so much more willing to go on this voter fraud journey if people making the claims did so in elections that they themselves had won, too.

When the problems only occur in elections you lost, it kind of underlines the central fallacy of your claims.

The political media in this country is just fundamentally incapable of understanding politics. Everything is horse race idiocy, most of these people are just not smart enough to comment on the culture, social, economics and technological convergence that shapes this landscape
It's semantics, but that guy's not entirely accurate. It's not 12.5% of the 'public', it's 12.5% of the number of number of voters who last voted for the office subject to the recall petition. (Which I think in this case was 1.4 million valid signatures from at least 5 different counties)

I'm honestly stunned this many people thought a typically deep blue state would bounce their blue governor for a red one.
This really wasn't that big of a hurdle to clear. To recall Newsom, they only needed 50%+1. After that, the leading vote getter on Question 2 becomes governor, no matter how few votes they get. So Newsom could've been recalled with that 50%+1 - essentially meaning 49% of voters voting 'for' him - and the winner of Question 2 could've gotten like 15% of the vote, but they'd be governor despite Newsom literally getting more than 3x as many votes in his favor. It's an asinine construct, but it was passed by ballot initiative which means it's part of the state constitution; changing it would require a 2/3 vote in the legislature then validation by popular vote.

The last time we had a gubernatorial recall (2003 or whatever) Davis was recalled by around 53% iirc. No alternative got more than 50%, but Schwarzenegger at least got a higher % than Davis did in his favor. This was seriously a case where under a million people in a state of 40 million could've replaced the governor.

Convinced this guy’s job is based on his engagements, which are just liberals taking about how dumb he is
Here is the headline from "The Fix" in the Washington Post that Cillizza uses to write before going to CNN:
GOP suffers historic embarrassment in California recall

Are you telling me right wing media are calling it a win for them, and left wing media are calling it a win for them?

That's odd

At what point is the onus on those who consume that media?

And are we making things worse by consuming that media so that we can make fun of it?

To put real numbers on it, as of midnight last night, Elder was the Question 2 choice on just over 2 million of the 9 million ballots counted. So Newsom could've gotten 4.5 million 'no' votes on Question 1 and lost out to Elder's 2 million votes on Question 2.

It's just so completely stupid.

And just to put one more pin in the voodoo doll and underscore what a choad Elder is, when you talk about 'reparations' with him he thinks they should be paid to the families of slave owners. Because slavery was legal, you see. They had their legal property taken from them, and their families deserve compensation.

Why wouldn't they do a runoff for the top X number of candidates on question 2?

Leading vote getting on Question 2 becomes governor in the event of Question 1 getting 50%+1. Full stop.

Wow, can’t believe the evil deep state would go to bat for the Silicon Valley pioneering icons. Almost like that whole tech entrepreneur, free enterprise jargon is just a facade

A parent in TX used a school board meeting to complain that a book in the library (Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison) was inappropriate and contained pedophilia. I haven't read the book but a quick search indicates nothing of the sort. That didn't stop the brigade of outraged "what about the children" types who feel the need to protect the world from such an evil book. Check out the most recent "reviews" on Amazon.

But why?
Eminently readable and deeply thought-provoking, Evison's deceptively simple novel takes on tough issues such as race, sexual identity, and the crushing weight of American capitalism. Mike Muñoz, the 22-year-old biracial (Mexican and white) narrator, has grown up dirt-poor with his hardworking waiter mother and his brother, who is developmentally disabled.

Meanwhile, other story lines fix on Mike's underdeveloped understanding of his sexuality, which is not helped by the rampant homophobia and sexism of his best friend, and his equally conflicted understanding of his ethnic identity
Oh. That's why. White parents absolutely terrified that a book will turn their kid gay. Or worse, Mexican.

Something that seems simple but is actually complex.

Would that be reversed though? Like it was "deceptively complex"
