why was firing squad ever a popular execution style? I get it for militaries as it’s simple to do but it’s very unpoetic

It’s the 21st century. We should start shooting deathrow inmates into space

It's actually probably one of the most painless way to go. Bullet enters heart, dead. Instantaneous.

Having killed enough things that have been dead by the time they hit the ground I can testify that it's the quickest and painless way to go. You won't even hear the shot.

Lethal injection is the most inhumane way of doing it.

Imagine having to face your family every day as you “thank you sir may I have another” to the people that were willing to have you murdered for mild political gain.

If they stopped publishing those books and didn't announce they were stopping, would anyone even notice? My guess is few to none would.

I've seen seeing a lot of people mad about liberals cancelling Dr Seuss but... it was the publisher. It was literally Dr. Seuss Enterprises who chose, without pressure, to stop publishing six titles that nobody other than Seuss superfans knew existed. Now, holding a historic work of art to present day cultural standards is an interesting conversation. I'd like to discuss that. I would not like to discuss liberal cancel culture being to blame for a publisher deciding not to continue publishing certain works.

These were minor, older titles that most libraries don't even own. We have a large teacher education program, so we have a large children's literature collection that supports that program. We own one of these books (Mulberry Street) and If I Ran the Zoo is in a Seuss anthology.

Now I have to go check these books out to myself so they don't get stolen and put on eBay. Yay.

Who said it was a Nazi symbol and who said it was put there by Democrats?
The company that was hired to set up the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida last weekend has taken full responsibility for the design of the stage that resembled a Nazi insignia.

In an exclusive statement to the Forward on Tuesday evening, Design Foundry, a stage design firm based in Hyattsville, Maryland, said it “had no idea that the design resembled any symbol, nor was there any intention to create something that did.” The organizers of CPAC have announced that it will not use the firm for future events.

Design Foundry said that the American Conservative Union approved the stage design, which was “intended to provide the best use of space, given the constraints of the ballroom and social distancing requirements.”
