Remember the pictures of the giant kissing sailor/nurse on V-J day statues that were in the RIP thread?

In 2014, naturally, there was a "controversy" that he was forcing himself on the nurse and this was photographic evidence of sexual assault.

The woman photographed said it was spontaneous and not forced at all. The sailor's fiance was there (they had gone to Manhattan to see a show) and saw the kiss and didn't have any issues with it. Of course, in this day and age, it's viewed as assault. It's so exhausting.
