Plenty of people protesting the shooting of Antwon Rose Jr.
I was there. Very moving demonstration. Hearing Leon Ford speak was was fantastic. The poem Antwon Rose wrote that his friend read was very emotional.

Remember that time Obama saved the Libyan people? :pop: :slug:
I remember Obama bombing Libya. IIRC, that was after he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

I don't know who wrote that, but that's a terribly misleading line.

Also, there is already a federal appellate ruling holding the structure is okay, and there are pending cases in the 5th and 9th Circuits. So this will be more likely for a SCOTUS pick up.

Tonight in "Fake, but Accurate"
Father of the now famous photo of the little girl crying [Time cover] says his wife/child were never separated at any time by authorities, that his wife was seeking a job (not fleeing violence), and that he is upset w/ her for taking his child on the dangerous journey.

California set to become the stinkiest state in the union:
In 2022, the new indoor water standard will be 55 gallons per person, per day. by 2030, it will fall to 50 gallons.
“I think the average new home is 35 gallons per person per day, so we are not talking emergency conservation here,” Marcus said.
Someone help this person with math... in a one child home 3 people (theoretically) x 35 gallons = more than 55 gallons per day

http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2018/05/ ... er-limits/

Git while the gittin's good, tif.
What part of "per person, per day" am I misunderstanding?
Yes, I got ahead of myself with the math.

Yet the overall message remains relevant - the necessary introduction of an intrusive bureaucracy, a reflexive restriction on individual freedom of course, a "solution" to a "problem" that naturally lacks innovation and relies on force... whatever, it's your hellhole. Enjoy it.

My understanding of this border dust-up is that people crossing the border illegally are being detained, and their children are being separated from them? In other words, this isn't happening to people who are "legally" crossing the border, right?

If so, this is of course an absurdity and patently unjust. Crossing an imaginary line isn't a "crime". But then again, this is the effectively no different than a situation which happens all too often throughout the rest of this country when a parent is found to be in possession of enough of a chemical or plant which the state deems verboten and CPS swoops in, "for the children". Yet, shockingly, no outrage there. And likewise in no doubt countless other scenarios...

You all wanted this. Most of you are in open support of a state with at least this much power, if not more. Most of you oppose the proper application of the governing document which limits the authority of the state. Bunch of "crocodile tears"...

They've created the catch-22 where migrants seeking to claim asylum are denied that ability, by being turned away at the border station. There are people that have been sleeping on a bridge that connects mexico to texas I think trying to get heard at a border station. So folks being denied the ability to make the claim at the border patrol cross the border illegally to then turn themselves in to US border patrol agents. So they have essentially criminalized this sort of migration caravan because it's not like these folks, once reaching the US border and being turned away are going to just head on back home.

Your state has no obligation to accept people crossing its border under the governing document, via a recognized border crossing or otherwise.

These are the rules of your game. Play by them.

You assume every person that makes an asylum claim has a valid one. Simply not true.

It is not an odd statement at all. These are the rules of YOUR game... Not mine.

I've been saying for years that I reject the rules of the game... that I reject the game as whole. You all wholly embrace the rules... you don't like how someone plays within those rules? Well too bad for you.

So the only option, in your mind, is to reject all the rules, otherwise stfu?
