Unlike 2016 when I stayed up until 3am with a perverse glee, I'll probably be in bed at 10 tonight

I'm having difficulty understanding what the panic is on the Right.

I think much like the Mueller stuff that's going to be a big nothing burger. We are looking at two years of stalemate sht throwing, kind of like the last six years of OBUMMER.

I wish they wouldn't share returns from the early part of a state that's in two time zones. Same with exit polling.

I'm having difficulty understanding what the panic is on the Right. This has happened in what, every single midterm after a new president was elected?

Obviously it's not ideal, but this isn't really unexpected. I'm content with Beto not getting elected and holding the Senate. Losing the House was almost inevitable after 2016.
The post-war average is around two dozen flipped seats from a new president's party. Which this year tracked with the margin to the majority.

Of course, that doesn't recognize years like '94 or '10 where Republicans picked up approximately 2 million seats each, or the two years the president's party picked up seats. And it doesn't even contemplate an incumbent midterm like '06 where the GOP didn't flip a single seat in Congress.

1994 was also crazy because the Republicans hadn't held the House since Eisenhower's first term. That election really ushered in modern politics. I have my own opinion of Newt but the Republicans executed that brilliantly. My how they've fallen

I'm posting with full knowledge that we've had politicians shoot each other in the past, so no need fact check me.......

To me, Newt is sort of the 'Patient Zero' of the coarsening of our public discourse.

CNN took all of three minutes to declare Wolf the winner.

Good game, Wagner, good effort.

In hindsight, I wish I had phrased my post "Dems flip Guam".

I still think the GOP loses both of these, but I cannot believe DeSantis is running ahead of Scott.
There were probably 8 million votes cast in Florida's 2018 election. With 7 million votes in,
DeSantis leads Gillum by 28,754
And
Scott leads Nelson by 11,334

At this rate, it's looking strongly Republican
