I feel like this brexit failure is some kind of metaphor for the failures of modern democracy, but I don't know exactly what that would be.

Democracy is run by the people, but the voting public is largely ignorant of the issues/people they are voting on/for and is susceptible to misinformation campaigns.

We shouldn’t be directly electing our senators.

- Don't promise a really stupid referendum just to win an election
- Don't let stupid people unable to grasp complicated consequences vote on the most significant and far-reaching questions concerning your country's sovereignty.
- If you let stupid people vote on on the most significant and far-reaching questions concerning your country's sovereignty, don't set the threshold to pass at 50%.
- If you yourself are against the measure, don't let people to talk you into becoming the face of the measure.

I assume the first and last refer to Cameron and May respectively?

I don't understand how this is falling out politically right now, but from what I would assume, there are people against leaving that are voting against the referendum on those grounds, then there are the purists and the moderate leavers that have to negotiate a unanimous agreement between their factions to have enough votes?

If Donnie ever really wanted to launch the nukes, all he'd have to do is misspell a word in his announcement tweet and nobody would notice. Then one day a week later they'd be like, "hey, where'd France go?!"

Funny that all 4 colors on that logo represent the national colors of the country of her (ethnic) origin! :) (green is not on the flag, but it's their true "No. 1" national color worn by national teams)

The more I think about it, the more it sounds...quaint.

The staff that prepare these types of things are furloughed. Trump probably figures college kids love fast food; it's easy, not a burden to the West Wing political staff, and the food is very American. I like it.
Yup.

If Obama did it, all the idiots out there would be laughing it up. “He’s one of the guys!!”

If President Trump serves them steak and lobster, he gets criticized for spending taxpayer money.

Trump does this? If so, impeach this man.
