I don’t think there’s any reason to think that gas stoves are preferred by one partisan group or another. Actually heard something that middle America is all electric while gas stoves are in more older urban houses

Yeah, I think most state budgets have batshit crazy things in it like this that never get enacted. It's made to generate headlines, show DeSantis to be a Real Conservative™, and pave the way for a presidential bid. Now Florida being Florida, I wouldn't be surprised to see this actually make it into the budget bill...but I doubt it.

8% of FL homes use gas in their stoves.

The entire platform is "not only are we going to stop any 'progress' you're trying to make, we're going to give a giant 'f*ck you' and double down on what you think is bad." Only in this case, what is "thought" to be bad actually is factually bad and should be phased out.

They're just celebrating Santos inventing the AR 15. What's wrong with that?

Not at all, and I bet most people do. This, on the other hand, is just **** stupid.

You seem to make that point quite often.
Falling back on "words mean whatever I want them to" is a great way to win any argument.
is this directed toward me or Gaucho? Because my point is that the words are both very ambiguous and don’t have much of any meaning

I wanted to get a gas stove to replace our electric one. I grew up with gas and used gas in restaurants. I had to learn how to use the electric stove, but I got there, and it's fine. I obviously prefer gas, but if it's poisoning my household, okay. Cool. Get rid of them.

Virtue signaling

Sure is. Schools should all drop the Pledge of Allegiance, and I see no reason for the National Anthem at sporting events. The widespread use of both has a lot to do with anti-communist virtue signaling during the Cold War.

I'll never forget in like 6th grade, a kid refused to say the pledge of allegiance and our shop teacher who was a vietnam vet came in and absolutely berated him for 5-10 minutes while everyone watched.

Everyone was terrified of that guy going forward.
That teacher was an dadhole who should have been fired.

Thats just history.

Problem you are talking about here are bad actors demonizing the term CRT and confusing it with things they don’t like being told about.

CRT should be demonized because it's racist garbage. But CRT is absolutely not the teaching of accurate history. CRT is the neo-Marxist concept (heavily flavored with postmodernist gibberish) that: (1) the fundamental underlying structure of society is race and racism; (2) every system and concept created by a dominant group (which is always white people) has been overtly or covertly structured to enforce and perpetuate the dominant status of that group, even if the people who created that system had the explicit goal of being race-neutral; (3) white people are inherently racist and benefit from "whiteness" because every system created by white people has been overtly or covertly structured to enforce and perpetuate the dominant status of white people; (4) any disparate outcomes between white people and other groups are demonstrative of this structural racism*; and (5) the solution to all of this is "equity," which does not mean equality but rather means active discrimination against white people** in order to ensure proportional representation of all races without regard to performance.***

* Except for Asians, for many racist reasons.
** And also those pesky Asians.
*** Excluding any areas, of course, where minorities already outperform whites, such as the NBA having ~75% black players.

Re: Gas Stoves
Somebody earlier had it right, in the current climate we would have never banned lead paint/leaded gas.
